Chapter 679 Manna’s Dangerous Double Game
The man’s usually stoic face showed a flicker of anger.
Manna noticed, of course. She knew what he was thinking. She glanced back at Tammy, signaling her to stay quiet.
Tammy watched them leave, her expression dark.
She closed her eyes and could still see the violence from just now.
She was useless—just a helpless spectator.
For the first time, the proud Tammy felt defeated.
Could that bastard Norman read her message?
If he could.
If he showed up to save her.
If she could finally kill Todd.
Then maybe…
She could forgive Norman.
When Tatiana saw the group of people, she was still surprised by how many there were.
At a glance, there were dozens.
She looked at them. They looked at her.
Their eyes were full of suspicion and scrutiny.
Vane stepped forward. “This is Miss Steele. She can help us. Right now, she needs people and our cooperation.”
No one said anything.
That meant they still doubted her.
One person spoke up, “Vane, who is she? Could she expose us?”
“Miss Steele is trustworthy.”
Slowly, some of them seemed moved.
Tatiana didn’t make any grand promises. She only said, “I want him dead more than any of you.”
And she brought Faye.
When Faye appeared, several people recognized her. Murmurs spread.
Faye smiled and said, “Please trust Miss Steele. She won’t hurt us.”
Just those words convinced more than half of them.
As a victim of the Langstrom family, Faye had suffered more than anyone.
If even she trusted this woman, what was there to doubt?
Tatiana knew she’d made the right move.
She needed more evidence. As much as possible. Enough to make sure the Langstrom family never recovered.
So she needed more witnesses and more testimony.
She’d thought it would be hard to find them. This turned out to be an unexpected windfall.
“Faye, I’ll leave the rest to you.”
“Don’t say that. If it weren’t for you—for all of us—I don’t know when we’d see hope. I’m just glad I can help.”
