Chapter 695 Todd’s Last Desperate Blast

It was the island’s traditional funeral rite.

A prayer and blessing for the departed, sent to the sea gods.

When the last note faded, Tammy seemed to have finished everything. She smiled at Lucas photo, her eyes slightly red.

“Alright. I’ll see you off this far.”

Goodbye, Lucas.”

Tatiana felt restless.

Maybe it was the upcoming wedding. Or maybe she was still worried about Tammy.

She tried to convince herself not to stress.

Tammy was strong enough to handle this.

The evidence against the Langstrom family had all been gathered. Even Liam–the toughest nut to crack–she’d found a lead on.

Yes, she’d finally found Liam’s weakness.

She’d been holding back all the witnesses and evidence because of him.

That man was too perfect. No faults to be found.

According to their lawyers, he might not just avoid being implicated–he might actually come out ahead. If he was ruthless enough to hand over that tape.

That’s when they finally understood why Liam had kept that tape all along–to turn his own father in.

If the Langstrom family went down, or rather if Jack went down, Liam could use the tape to ge immunity.

Those two had been at odds from the start.

Liam was never a filial son.

Once they realized that, the investigation got easier.

Results came back fast.

“We found something! Liam was kidnapped once–around age six! But there’s something strange about it.”

Foster handed Tatiana the files he’d dug up.

Tatiana flipped through them as she asked, “What’s strange?”

“The whole kidnapping.”

“Go on.”

“Jack picked him up from school himself that day. They got in the car together. The car broke down halfway. Someone grabbed Liam and took off. Seven days later, Liam was found unconscious next to a dumpster and returned to the Langstrom family.”

“That doesn’t sound that unusual so far.”

“No. Jack never reported it to the police. The kidnapper’s identity is still unknown. And after Liam came back, he was hospitalized for three months, supposedly for illness.”

Tatiana caught on.

“At that time, Jack’s position was too low for a kidnapping to make sense.”

A low–level employee–why would anyone bother kidnapping his son?

“Right. And Liam’s medical records from that period are missing.”

“Even you couldn’t find them?”

“Of course not.”

Tatiana sighed, “Then just tell me. Why was he hospitalized?”

Foster rarely held back, “Hard to say. Take a look yourself.”

He turned his laptop screen toward her, showing an electronic medical record.
