Against Cruelty, She Grew Strong (by Anastasia Glover) novel Chapter 696

Even in Darkness, She Chose to Rise

Chapter 696 Liam’s Perfect Innocent Facade.

He’d hidden it perfectly.

If they hadn’t suspected him, if Tatiana hadn’t insisted on digging deeper, no one would have ever discovered that Liam was the one who’d been pulling strings all along.

“Eighty percent chance it was him. If we find proof he killed those people, he won’t get away either.”

“I’ll leave it to you. Thank you.”

“Don’t worry. I’m not doing this for free. Once this is over, I need you to do me a favor.”

Tatiana got serious, “Name it.”

None of this would’ve gone smoothly without Foster’s help.

He was their biggest asset.

Whatever he asked, if she could do it, she would.

Foster looked away, a rare hint of embarrassment on his face, “Go comfort Rose for me.”

She blinked, then looked at his awkward expression and understood everything. She couldn’t help laughing, “Deal. I’ve got you covered.”

So he was trying to chase a girl and needed backup.

With Tatiana’s promise, Foster worked even harder.

And maybe luck was on their side–they actually found solid evidence!

Liam had been thorough. But that thoroughness itself left traces that didn’t quite fit.

Once Tatiana had the proof in hand, she felt a weight lift.

Tomorrow was their wedding day.

The timing couldn’t have been better.

Her phone rang. Liam wanted to see her.

Not wanting to tip him off, she agreed happily, changed into something nice, and drove to the restaurant

When she arrived, she found the whole place reserved.

Liam sat alone, sipping champagne.

She walked in with her clutch, “Have you been waiting long?”

Liam set down his glass and stood up, pulling out a chair for her, “Not long at all.”

She sat down.

Liam smiled gently, “Tomorrow’s the big day.”

“Yeah, it is.”

“Are you excited?”

“I planned this whole wedding myself. What do you think?”

Liam chuckled, “No, I mean–are you excited for our life together?”

“Of course. Why do you ask?”

AGE

Liam studied her for a long moment. In the end, he said nothing, just smiled, “You must be hungry. Let’s eat first.”

Soon, the food arrived.

They chatted and laughed, like the most intimate couple in the world.

At one point, Tatiana excused herself to the restroom.

There were barely any servers in the hallway.

She walked calmly, face neutral.

When she came back, she asked casually, “Did you book the whole place?”

“Yeah. Wanted some time alone with you.”
