Josh, whom I know as a good boarding house friend, is always willing to accept and listen to everything I tell him, but this time I saw him disagree with what I had in mind.
I don't know if it was because I said something wrong or because Josh was afraid that it would happen.
"Then, what should I do now?" I asked.
"We must make a report on what the crazy doctor did!" "I'm afraid it's going to happen with Michael," Josh said.
"What? Who's Michael?"
"My love," Josh replied.
"Oh, yeah? What happened to Michael?"
Too panicked and focused on doctor Steve, I forgot to ask Josh where he was in the hospital.
"He's sick and being treated here," Josh replied.
"Oh, yeah?"
"What pain?"
"I don't know; the disease is very strange. He suddenly had no appetite, and his gaze also changed toward me," Josh's reply explained.
"Who is Michael in the room with?" "Is it okay if you stay out like this?"
"It's okay. He just doesn't like being with me. He also kicked me out and said that he no longer loved me."
"Seriously?"
I looked into Josh's eyes, which were filled with tears. Although I want to be indifferent to Josh's personal life, seeing Josh so sad, I can't bear it. Yes, even though their relationship is abnormal, I appreciate Josh's feelings. I wouldn't be able to say openly if same-sex relationships were not good or normal. Yes, because I accept Josh as a friend and family member in this overseas city.
It crossed my mind to meet Michael and ask him what happened.
"Where are you going, Alice?" Ask Josh, who saw me open the door.
"I want to go back to the hospital," I replied.
"For what? Do you want to see that crazy doctor, or do you want to report him?" Josh Asked.
"Not at all, Josh!"
"Then?"
I saw the expression on Josh's face that was shrouded in sadness, which made me not have the heart to see it.
"I want to see Michael."
"What? What's the matter? What do you need that you want to see him?"
"Because I want to know the reason why he did that to you, Josh!"
"Oh, no! No need, Alice! Michael is also with his parents, so it may be a long affair later. No need for you to do that, thank you," said Josh, who then pulled the car door handle from the inside and closed it again.
"But, Josh!"
"Shhhhh! I can handle it, Alice! You don't have to worry. Leave him alone, and I'll come when he's not mad at me anymore," Josh said.
I was stunned to hear Josh's response. He is very patient with his boyfriend's attitude, even though I know that this is not the first time Josh has gotten this kind of treatment.
I let out a long sigh and then invited Josh to drive me to Mate's house.
Josh finally started the car, and we were discharged from the hospital after a lot of drama, especially for me.
"Josh, I need your help now!" "Do you want to help me?" I asked in the middle of the road.
"Of course, I will be happy to help you." Say it! "What can I do for you?"
"Take me to my friend's house," I replied.
Josh raised his right eyebrow slightly, as if surprised by what I said.
"How? "Do you want to take me there?"
"Of course," Josh replied in the loudest voice.
I caught a little weird about Josh's facial expression, and I ignored it. Yes, because I think that Josh is still in grief with Michael, and I consider that to be the same thing.
"In front, there will be an intersection later; turn right," I said, pointing in the direction we were headed.
"Okay," Josh answered shortly after, moving the steering wheel to the right as I said.
Josh and I finally got to the front of the house. The door closed like no one was inside.
"This is his house?" Josh asked, stopping the car.
"Yes, but... why is the house quiet like no one is inside?" My response was to ask again.
"Maybe they didn't come home from the hospital?"
"It should have been because he was no longer in the hospital."
"Could he be asleep inside?"
"Mate? Where are you? Has something happened to you? Hello? Mate?"
I looked around, hoping there was someone I could ask for help. I was confused about where to step, and as long as my eyes looked, I saw the same scene that was dark and lonely.
Behind some of the houses that appeared, I saw many trees towering above the house buildings.
"Is it possible that Mate is around here?" But where?" I asked with a trembling mouth.
"Mate? "Can you tell me where you are?" I ask once more.
This time, however, Mate turned off his phone. I don't know what to do anymore.
I try to walk towards the corner of the street to the right of my view. Sometimes I speed up my steps, and sometimes I slow down.
I started to feel sweat appear on my face and body, even though the atmosphere at that time was cold and filled with snow.
"Mate? Where are you? What's going on with you?" My mom kept asking in my heart.
After almost an hour of walking down the street, I heard the sound of people moaning in pain from one of the houses I passed.
"Please...!"
I heard someone asking for help, even though it wasn't very clear. Yeah, like that voice I heard on the other end of the phone.
"Mate? "Is that you?"
I stopped my footsteps right in front of the house I suspected Mate was in.
I looked and watched the house. A house that looks deserted and has no lighting at all.
However, when I wanted to approach the house, suddenly the voice disappeared.
"Mate?"
I kept calling Mate's name even though my heart doubted whether it was Mate who was in the house.
After a few seconds of reassuring silence, I finally decided to turn around and leave the house. I thought Mate couldn't be in that house when he has his own house.
Besides, I also don't want it to turn out that someone who is in the house is the owner of the house and is doing his activities. I don't know, and I don't want to know because it's none of my business.
I turned around and went on with what I was looking for. However, when my foot stepped on the count of three, I heard a voice say, "Alice...!"
Someone called my name. My legs stopped again.
"Who called me earlier?"
