Chapter 101

Rocco’s Perspective

I slammed my spoon onto the table with such a violent thud that the entire room fell silent, as if time itself had frozen. “What exactly do you mean he was taken?” I growled, my voice low and edged with fury, each word slipping through clenched teeth as I struggled to keep my temper in check.

Marcus stood before me, his face noticeably paler than usual, the weight of the news pressing down on him. “Sir, Derek Silverstone was forcibly removed from the medical facility around three o’clock this morning. When our pack guards arrived, they found two separate groups locked in a vicious battle.”

I tightened my grip on the coffee mug in front of me until I feared it might shatter under the pressure. “What groups are we talking about?” I demanded, eyes narrowing.

Marcus kept his distance, careful not to provoke me further. “Our security team encountered members of The Triads already engaged in savage combat with another unidentified faction,” he explained grimly. “Several medical staff were caught in the crossfire and injured during the chaos.”

I closed my eyes briefly, trying to quell the storm of rage building inside. First Kira, now her father—this was no accident. It was a deliberate strike, orchestrated right under my watch, in my own territory.

“You’re certain The Triads were involved?” I asked sharply, fixing Marcus with a cold, piercing stare that made him instinctively take a small step back.

“Yes, Alpha. We identified their scent markers and the distinctive triangular pendants they wear. The other group managed to escape… taking Silverstone with them.”

A wave of nausea surged through me. The Triads—this was far worse than I had feared. They operated outside the bounds of any legitimate wolf tribe, a dangerous international network of rogue wolves, renegade Alphas, and merciless madmen.

They were infamous for two things: employing some of the most brilliant medical minds in the werewolf world, and their unmatched cruelty. They wouldn’t hesitate to sacrifice thousands for a single twisted experiment. Their belief was that pure bloodlines hindered werewolf evolution, so they relentlessly pursued genetic modifications to create what they called “super wolves.” For years, many pack leaders and council members had dealt with them in secret, purchasing treatments that were otherwise unavailable through normal pack healers.

Within my territory, we maintained a strict zero-tolerance stance toward the Triads. But confronting them required experts—ordinary wolves stood no chance against these lunatics.

“Prepare yourselves,” I ordered, quickly slipping on my suit jacket. “Alert the guard units. I want them ready to move at a moment’s notice.”

The medical facility was sealed off, pack guards stationed firmly at every entrance. Blood stained the floors in dark, ominous pools, claw marks scarred the walls, and medical equipment lay scattered haphazardly. The scene spoke of a brutal fight, a merciless clash with no regard for the injured patients or the healers who tried to protect them.
