Chapter 257

I sprinted toward the main control panel, diving through the energy barrier during its momentary weakening. My skin burned as I passed through, but I made it to the console. My fingers flew across the controls, trying to abort the sequence.

“No!” Ethan roared, lunging toward me, but a blur of movement Intercepted him.

Rocco stood between us, his stance wide and solid. “Long time no see, Ethan,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.

Ethan’s shock gave way to a cold smile. “Blackwood. I guess you know the truth now. How does it feel to be the pawn?”

“Better than being the monster,” Rocco replied, his eyes never leaving Ethan.

1 frantically worked at the console, but hit a security wall. “The console needs verification codes! I can’t stop the program!” I called out to

Rocco.

Ethan laughed triumphantly. “Of course you can’t. Only I know the codes. Unless you kill me, the program will continue.”

Rocco and I exchanged a glance. “Kira, how much time?” he asked.

I looked at the countdown. “Three minutes! The system’s already starting to transmit to the targets!”

Ethan spread his arms wide. “Too late. Even if you kill me now, the portions already transmitted will still execute. My consciousness has begun to spread.”

I turned back to the console, analyzing the data streams. The energy distribution system might be vulnerable. If I could redirect the pathways, create an overload…

I began reprogramming, redirecting energy flows while Rocco and Ethan engaged in a brutal fight. Both men moved with Alpha wolf strength and speed, their bodies blurring with motion. The facility began to destabilize, chunks of ceiling falling as warning alarms blared.

“Rebecca,” I shouted into my comm, “I need to know how to overload the main system without causing a chain reaction!”

Rebecca’s voice came through with instructions, and I worked furiously to implement them. Meanwhile, Rocco and Ethan’s fight was causing more system damage, inadvertently helping my plan.

“You’ll destroy everything!” Ethan shouted as he realized what I was doing. “Including the imprisoned Alphas!”

‘It’s over, Rocco said. “Your ‘new world‘ isn’t coming.”

Ethan suddenly laughed, a chilling sound that echoed through the chamber. “You think this is everything? I have backup facilities. This is just the beginning.”

He activated a device on his wrist. “If I can’t complete it, then no one will. Self–destruct protocol initiated.”

“Rocco!” I shouted. “We need to go! The whole system is going to collapse!”
