“I don’t get cold as you do.” He smiled at me.

I pushed the blanket a little further away from him and sat down,

trying to keep my distance. In my head, I had come with questions

and theories. I wanted answers to help me make my decision.

“When you said that your mum and dads marriage was arranged,

you lied, didn’t you?”

Blake nodded “Yes I did. In my defence, it wasn’t all a lie. Mum

and dad are mates. That first day dad met mum, he knew that she was

the one and so did she. Both my parents are pure breeds and high

ranked, so it all worked out. The second time they met, they got

engaged and then married. So technically, it was love at first sight followed by them learning to love each other more and more after

marriage.”

“Okay, What’s to say that I won’t do something stupid like Kyra?

After all, I’m still human. How do you know my love for you is going

to be as strong as it is today?”

“The fact that you are still thinking of loving me, even though you are scared and undecided, says it all.” He smiled and I could tell that

he was pleased with that.

“There is some portion of werewolf blood in you. A wolf as high

ranked as mine doesn’t normally have a human mate. Actually, it’s

unheard of. I’m sure there is some part of you that’s like us. However,

regardless of whether you are like us or not, you aren’t one to cheat. I

know you and I know you understand the concept of true love.” His

eyes were glued to mine. It was like he was searching my soul.

My insides went fuzzy and this was why I kept my distance from

him. The boy affected me in ways that I had never experienced before.

He was right, I would never cheat on him and he knew me well

His eyes were a darker shade now. His eyes were full of need and

regret. What did he regret?

“Well, that explains a lot,” I muttered. I’ve been fantasising about

Blake a lot and maybe that was whatever portion of werewolf I had in

“Angel did Vince and you….. you know…” Blake looked down at
