“If Rocky hadn’t been with me that day Vince tried to have his way

with you, I would have killed him. I was so angry he tried to take

advantage of you and as pop’s explained, if someone harms the one we

love, we will happily snap them like a twig.”

I imagined Blake snapping Vince like a twig. That thought made me cringe. I didn’t want Blake putting himself in harm’s way just to

protect me.

I got up and climbed into Blake’s lap, straddling him. I didn’t

know what I was doing but I knew I was losing the internal battle I

was having. Blake immediately wrapped his arms around my waist

and pulled me close. I rested my hands on his chest.

“You can not put your life at risk for me. You have so many good

things happening in your life, please don’t ruin it for someone like

me” I could feel my throat getting tight.

Blake smiled at me “unfortunately Angel, that’s a promise I can

not make. I will always protect you. It’s something I can not control.

You are my everything. I can’t stand aside and watch someone hurt

you.” He pressed his forehead to mine, I could feel his heart beating

underneath my hands and I instantly felt calm.

“Is this all part of the bond? The want to be this close to you,

feeling so safe and calm in your arms, wanting to feel your touch so

badly” I took a deep breath in and wrapped my arms around Blake’s

neck. Blake let out a growl.

jerked back and examined his face. He had his eyes closed and

jaws clenched.

He slowly opened his eyes and the orange flames from the fire

reflected off his pitch–black eyes.

“I’m sorry Angel. I didn’t mean to scare you. Now that you know, I

don’t need to hold back anymore and it feels so good to be able to

That growl is his way of saying he likes it.”

I touched his eyes “Why are they so dark?” I asked softly.

“That’s my wolf trying to take control. He wants to claim you so

badly. I’m fighting to keep him under control because I know you are

not ready yet. But having you know about us now, it’s driving him

crazy. He is so happy and we both just want to sink inside you and

make you ours forever”

His full lips were inviting and I knew I had lost my battle.

Regardless of what Blake was, I wanted this boy. I wanted to be part

of his life and I wanted him to be mine.

Blake tightened his hold around my waist and moved me a little so

he could sit up more. I moved a little to balance myself on my knee. I
