Alpha’s White Lie
Chapter 99
“Since that revelation, I have questioned myself every day. Do you
know why I questioned myself? It was because of you. The man
knocked up a 16–year–old hooker even after having a loyal, loving
mate at home. The man that didn’t have the audacity to face his
problems. The man that broke his bond and walked out on his mate,
his family. Because of you, I’ve doubted myself.”
Rocky’s voice was filled with anger. He was even shaking a little. He
stood tall and, unlike me, spoke confidently.
For as long as I had known Rocky, he had never hidden from Taylor
and me about his father. He told us the story of him packing and
leaving for another woman when we had become close enough to
share intimate stories. After meeting Theresa, Taylor and I
questioned how a man could leave a woman like her. She was
amazing, and she had raised Rocky to be the gentleman he was.
Rocky inherited his father’s name, and he despised it. He always said
he would change it but never did. Once Theresa told Rocky about his
dad’s real absence. Rocky hated him even more. Now I understood
that I was part of that reason as well.
“He said mate,” I whispered.

It hit me like a wrecking ball. I got so caught up in my thoughts I
didn’t even notice him using the word.
Blake’s arms tightened around me, and he hid his face in the crook
of my neck. He obviously heard what I said.
“He knows Angel. We can talk about that later.” He whispered
against my skin.
Rocky knew? How long has he known? Rocky said his mum was
Richard’s mate. Did that mean he was full blood?
Rocky’s voice broke my train of thoughts.
“If it wasn’t bad enough that you ruined my life, you ruined three
other lives. My mum, Beth’s, and Rosy’s.” He turned to look at me. I
was still clinging to Blake.
“Did you even know about her? Did you ever bother to find out what
happened to her? Or if she was okay? Because she wasn’t. She has
been carrying the world’s weight on her shoulders since she was 16,
She was praying for a way out of the life she got brought into without
her consent. She was praying for freedom from a mother that didn’t want her. She and I were the same age. While you were teaching me how to ride a bike, she taught herself how to fend off people who wanted to hurt her. What kind of a father are you?”

Chapter 99
Rocky had seen my struggles, and he, just like Taylor, had been there
to help me pick up the broken pieces.
“I’m not proud of what I did. I think about both of you every day. I
admit that I wasn’t the best father, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t
