Apocalypse God Mode: Unlocked (Cecilia) novel Chapter 10

Since the apocalypse began, every time Cecilia rode in a car and felt it crush a zombie beneath the wheels, her expression always turned to the worst.

Ivy worried she might feel sick.

Cecilia shook her head. "I'm fine."

In the ten years of the apocalypse, it wasn't like she'd never killed zombies.

She'd even learned how to drive, something she hadn't done before the apocalypse.

Naturally, she'd crushed plenty of zombies under a car, just like Timothy was doing now.

She was used to it.

Only after hearing that did Ivy finally relax a little.

"As long as you're okay."

"Yeah. Ivy, don't worry."

Cecilia squeezed Ivy's hand.

Right now, Ivy was just worried about her safety once they reached their destination.

Under normal circumstances, Ivy would definitely get out of the car with the others to gather supplies.

That meant Cecilia would be the only one left behind in the vehicle.

Hendrick overheard the sisters' exchange and cast a cool glance at Cecilia from the corner of his eye.

But it was only a brief look before he withdrew it without a trace.

"Two miles left."

Regina spoke with clear excitement on her face. "This trip's been smoother than we expected."

Timothy gave a brief acknowledgment and sped up.

The number of zombies around them was increasing.

If they didn't move fast, the zombies would start following.

The car shot forward.

The zombies wandering along the roadside heard the noise, lifted their heads, and began howling as they chased after them.

Cecilia turned and looked back.

This was the most troublesome part of driving into the city.

Still, compared to the world ten years into the apocalypse, the sight of tall buildings was oddly nostalgic.

Ten minutes later, the car stopped on an empty stretch of road not far from their destination.

Regina checked the map. "Half a mile ahead is the target. There are quite a few zombies."

She then looked at Timothy. "Timothy, how do you want to handle it?"

Timothy turned to Hendrick. "You drive. Ryan and I will lure away the nearby zombies and clear the path."

Hendrick nodded.

The two men got out of the car.

Hendrick slid into the driver's seat and adjusted the rearview mirror.

Through the mirror, his narrow eyes fixed on Cecilia.

Cecilia noticed his gaze and looked back through the mirror.

Hendrick didn't look away.

In that brief moment when their eyes met,

Cecilia once again felt a chill and a sharp sense of killing intent.

That's right.

Not dislike.

But clear, unmistakable killing intent from Hendrick.

Only after a few seconds did he finally look away.

But the feeling of being watched by a venomous snake lingered on Cecilia's skin.

She frowned and clenched her fists.

Knowing why Hendrick wanted her dead

was completely different from actually being stared at like this, as if she might be stabbed in the back at any moment.

It was irritating.

Her brows knit tighter.

Ten minutes later, Hendrick drove the car forward toward the destination.

The zombies had already been lured away by Timothy and Ryan.

Only a few scattered ones remained, easy to deal with once they got out.

The car stopped.

Matthew reversed the vehicle, lining up the rear with the tightly closed doors of the large supermarket.

When Timothy and Ryan returned, Hendrick and Regina got out of the car.

Ivy moved to get out, but Timothy stopped her. "You stay here."

Ivy hurriedly said, "One more person means we'll be faster."

Timothy frowned and glanced at Cecilia.

Cecilia met his gaze without dodging. "I agree with my sister. I'll get out and help move supplies. You can assign someone to keep an eye on me."

"Cece?"
