Apocalypse God Mode: Unlocked (Cecilia) novel Chapter 9

Once Cecilia said that, Timothy, Hendrick, and the others all turned to look at Ivy.

Ivy frowned slightly and thought back carefully. "That did happen. Your classmate lived near there. After I went to pick you up, she even invited me back to her place for a meal..."

This time, Cecilia really wasn't lying.

She had cracked a grown man's head open and sent him straight to the police station.

When the call came from the police, Ivy had nearly jumped out of her skin.

She rushed over as fast as she could.

The man was sitting there with his head wrapped up, crying and complaining.

Meanwhile, Cecilia was sitting nearby with her classmate, laughing like nothing had happened.

When Ivy arrived, Cecilia had even happily announced that the police praised her for brave self-defense.

"If that's true, then Northbank is worth the risk," Timothy said, his gaze dark as he looked at Cecilia. "I hope you're not lying."

There was a clear warning in his words.

Cecilia replied calmly, "I'm going with you. If something really goes wrong, it's not like I can escape on my own."

Ryan sneered. "Who knows what kind of trick you're trying to pull."

Ivy pressed her lips together and looked at Timothy. "Timothy, Cece isn't lying about this. But how we go is still your call."

She really didn't want another argument breaking out because of one suggestion.

Timothy turned to Hendrick. "What do you think?"

Hendrick narrowed his eyes slightly, crossed his arms, and leaned back in his chair, rocking it until it creaked.

He gave Cecilia a cool glance before answering. "It's not far. If Northbank doesn't have what we need, we can take another route to Southridge."

Timothy nodded. "Then we'll change course to Northbank."

He quickly marked out the new route on the map.

Ryan's face darkened. He shot Cecilia with a vicious look. "If something happens to everyone because of you, I won't let you get away with it!"

Cecilia shot back, "What, we haven't even left yet and you're already hoping something goes wrong?"

"You—"

"Ryan."

Timothy glanced at him and said in a low voice, "Sit down."

Ryan clenched his teeth and sat back down.

But his eyes didn't stop moving.

If looks could kill, Cecilia would've been torn to pieces by now.

She acted like she didn't notice.

For the sake of how Ryan died saving her sister in her last life, she couldn't be bothered to argue with him.

Once the final destination and route were set, everyone packed up and got into the vehicles.

Two cars.

Cecilia and Ivy sat in the back seat of the SUV Timothy was driving.

Regina was in the front passenger seat.

And Hendrick sat beside Ivy.

From the moment he got in, he mostly just closed his eyes and leaned back without speaking.

Regina held the map and guided Timothy.

They set off before sunrise.

The biggest advantage was that they'd have more time to move during the day.

By 5.30a.m., the sky was already starting to lighten, showing a faint gray-white glow.

Their vehicles were 30 miles from Northbank.

Timothy was driving fairly fast.

Cecilia glanced at the truck beside them.

Ryan was sitting in the passenger seat.

When he saw her, he looked down at her and raised a scornful middle finger.

Cecilia's mouth twitched. She let out a short laugh. "Childish."

Then she looked away and raised her hand, returning the internationally friendly gesture.

Very friendly. With her thumb pointing down.

"Fuck! Is that dead freeloader provoking me?!"

Ryan exploded and slammed his hand against the window.

He wished he could jump out right now and beat Cecilia senseless.

Matthew glanced at the furious Ryan and quietly thought that Cecilia's biggest change was probably learning how to tease a dog.

With Ryan's short fuse, she really had him completely under control.

Timothy kept the car moving at a good pace.

As the sky grew brighter, Cecilia spotted scattered zombies wandering beneath the roadway.

"Timothy, we'll see the bridge in ten minutes," Regina said, staring straight ahead and continuing, "The bridge is a mile long. You can faintly hear zombies howling, but that's from inside the car."
