Villainess Ascendant: Apocalypse Edition
Chapter 11 Waiting for an Excuse
Cecilia knew exactly what Hendrick was thinking.
He definitely wanted to kill her.
He was just waiting for a proper excuse.
Finished
More precisely, he wanted to see what kind of trouble she’d stir up next, then kill her while she was doing
Matthew was honest by nature and fiercely loyal to Timothy.
He also wasn’t the type to enjoy killing indiscriminately.
Timothy sending him along was partly meant to keep an eye on Hendrick.
The three of them entered the police station.
They didn’t find many zombies inside.
Most of them had probably gone out when everything fell apart, trying to maintain order.
Once inside, Cecilia stopped leading the way.
She looked at Hendrick and Matthew. “You go first. I’ll follow.”
Hendrick narrowed his eyes slightly, gave her a look, then calmly moved to the front.
Matthew walked behind him.
Cecilia followed with the dagger in hand.
Her job was already done. She wasn’t about to give Hendrick a chance to kill her.
Before they came, Timothy had already told Hendrick the general layout of a police station armory.
He found it quickly.
But there were two or three zombies guarding the door.
These zombies were solidly built.
They wore bulletproof vests, and their bodies were riddled with bullet holes.
Hendrick motioned for Matthew to move.
Matthew’s earth ability wasn’t especially lethal, but his size gave him an advantage.
After kicking the door open, he lunged forward and tackled one zombie, slamming it hard against the door panel and pinning it down.

Chapter 13 Red Eyes
“Ivy.”
She called out and stepped forward, helping lift a crate of energy drinks.
Those were more useful than bottled water.
Fighting zombies drained stamina fast, and plain water wasn’t enough.
“Cece, are you okay?”
The moment Ivy saw her, she instinctively checked her for injuries.
Cecilia stood still and let her look, sighing helplessly. “I got lucky. Didn’t run into many zombies.”
In reality, daytime reduced zombie activity a bit.
And the route she’d taken was quieter, with less foot traffic.
Not seeing many zombies was normal.
“That’s good.”
Finishe
Ivy finally relaxed and smiled at her. “Then hurry up and help move supplies. There’s still a lot. We need t get back to the villa before dark.”
“Okay.”
Cecilia understood.
Everything had gone far more smoothly than she’d expected.
If nothing went wrong, they’d make it back before nightfall.
But the moment that thought crossed her mind, a loud bang echoed from outside the supermarket.
It sounded like something massive falling from above.
Cecilia’s expression sharpened. She immediately pulled Ivy behind her.
Regina, who was with Timothy, turned pale. “Timothy, it’s a zombie. A really fast one. It’s upstairs.”
Timothy’s face darkened. He looked at the three women. “Stay here. Don’t go outside.”
With that, he hurried out.
Matthew quickly dropped what he was carrying and chased after him.
Cecilia’s expression turned grim.
A zombie with high mobility?
An advanced zombie?

Chapter 11 Waiting for an Excuse
He got injured more than anyone else.
Ivy treated him better than anyone else too.
Even if he didn’t like Cecilia, he didn’t want her getting hurt while under his watch.
How would he explain that to Ivy?
Thinking of Ivy, he rushed forward to help Cecilia.
But before he could take more than a few steps, suddenly-
Slash.
The blade pierced flesh.
Crack.
A skull shattered.
Two sharp sounds rang out in quick succession.
Matthew stopped in his tracks.
He watched as the zombie attacking Cecilia went silent, then slowly collapsed to the floor.
Cecilia pulled the dagger free and wiped the black blood off it with a tissue from the desk.
She bent down and closed the zombie’s eyes.
Her lips moved as if she were muttering something.
Matthew focused and listened. It sounded like praying.
He froze.
Was she performing last rites?
Hendrick was stunned by how decisively she’d killed the zombie.
Someone who’d never killed a zombie before wouldn’t strike like that.
What was wrong with this woman?
His gaze darkened as suspicion and scrutiny crept into his eyes.
Cecilia looked up at them. “So? Isn’t this how you usually kill zombies? I did okay, right?”
Both Hendrick and Matthew froze again.
Matthew looked incredulous. “You learned that just now?”

“What else?” Cecilia said as if it were obvious. “I hadn’t killed one before, but I’ve seen you do it plenty of

times. Picking up a few moves isn’t hard. The main thing is getting past the mental block.”
“What mental block?”
Matthew asked curiously, “You don’t mean that chanting, do you?”
Cecilia nodded solemnly. “I learned it last night. It should help a bit.”
Matthew fell silent.
Hendrick snorted. “Flashy nonsense. Too clever for your own good.”
Cecilia didn’t argue with him.
She thought the comment was fair.
Everything she’d just done was simply to make her actions look a little more reasonable.
Judging by their reactions, both men were still half convinced at best.
Hendrick quickly pulled his gaze away from her.
There was no point.
No matter what this woman was plotting, he’d find a way to deal with her.
Right now, the priority was getting the weapons.
“Matthew. The keys.”
He glanced at Matthew.
Matthew immediately understood. He searched the three bodies and found the key to the armory.
