Villainess Ascendant: Apocalypse Edition
Chapter 12 The Unexpected Jackpot
Matthew tossed the key to Hendrick.
Hendrick stepped forward and opened the armory.
The moment the door swung open, everything inside came into view.
Cecilia stood on her toes and peeked past Hendrick’s shoulder.
The entire room was packed with weapons.
There was even a submachine gun right by his feet.
Damn.
There was way more than she’d expected.

No wonder Brandon’s team had been able to boost their combat strength so quickly in the early days of the apocalypse.
This armory had been one of his hidden advantages.
No ordinary person could’ve found something like this.
No, wait.
How could a normal police station stockpile this many weapons?
The realization hit Cecilia all at once.
As she scanned the room again, from handguns to submachine guns and even portable heavy weapons, Hendrick’s brows slowly drew together.
Something felt off.
This clearly didn’t match what a standard police armory should contain.
It was more like someone had deliberately stored these here ahead of time.
Hendrick’s expression shifted. He turned and glanced at Cecilia.
Had this woman stumbled onto it by accident?
Matthew didn’t know much about weapons. He leaned in for a look, saw the sheer amount, and frowned, “Hendrick, there’s no way the three of us can carry all this back. What do we do?”
“I saw some carts in the main hall earlier. We should be able to use those,” Cecilia said, looking at them. “I can go grab one.”
Hendrick narrowed his eyes on her, then said to Matthew, “You go with her.”

Matthew nodded. “Okay.”
Cecilia knew exactly what Hendrick was thinking.
He didn’t want her wandering off alone and pulling something.
So he had Matthew watch her closely.
Finisher
While they were gone, Hendrick started selecting weapons. He picked one that was easy to carry, snapped in a magazine, and holstered it at his lower back.
Then he assembled every other weapon.that could be put together.
After that, he slipped on a bulletproof vest.
By the time Cecilia and Matthew pushed the cart back in,
Hendrick was fully armed.
Click.
He chambered a round.
The next second, the gun barrel was pointed straight at Cecilia’s forehead.
“Hendrick?”
Matthew froze.
Cecilia stood there calmly, meeting Hendrick’s gaze without flinching.
Hendrick narrowed his eyes and sneered. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll actually pull the trigger?”
Cecilia raised her brow slightly and replied evenly. “There are zombies all around us. Your have a suppressor. One shot and you’ll draw a whole swarm here. If you really wanted to kill me, you wouldn’t drag yourself down with me.”

Calm.
Steady.
And sharp.
Hendrick studied her more closely, clearly surprised.
At the same time, suspicion crept in.
Could someone really change this much overnight?
He didn’t believe it.
His instincts told him there had to be something else behind Cecilia’s transformation.

Hendrick lowered the gun, slid it back into its holster, and gave her a smile that was almost gentle. “Just joking. Didn’t expect you to change this much. It’s like you became a different person overnight. Makes me wonder if you’re even the same Cecilia.”
Cecilia’s expression didn’t change. “The world’s already ended. Is it really that strange for someone to grow up overnight? I figured things out. Is that not allowed?”
“Sure.”
Hendrick let out a soft chuckle and looked at her with amusement. “Let’s hope you keep it figured out.”
And don’t give me an excuse to kill you..
Cecilia didn’t respond.
Matthew checked the time and said, “The supermarket side probably still needs help. We should hurry and get these weapons back first.”
“Yeah.”
Hendrick signaled for him to bring the cart closer.
Cecilia stayed where she was.
Hendrick didn’t call her over.
He and Matthew worked together, loading every weapon, all the ammo, the bulletproof vests, and helmets
onto the cart.
Once everything was packed, the three of them left the police station.
Looking at the cart piled high with weapons, Matthew’s heart started racing.
He knew exactly what this meant.
Once they got these back, the team’s overall combat power would skyrocket.
Future missions would be a lot safer.
Thinking that, he glanced at Cecilia.
