Chapter 15 Calling in Reinforcements
The level two zombie flew into a rage.
Roaring, it yanked the dagger out of its neck and hurled it at Timothy.
Timothy formed an ice shield to block it.
The thin ice shattered.
The dagger hit the ground.
“Roar!”
The level two zombie let out an even louder, angrier roar.
Even Cecilia, sitting in the SUV, heard it.
Her face changed. “This is bad. That zombie has allies nearby.”
Ivy froze and looked at her. “Cece, you…”

Cecilia pressed her lips together and explained seriously. “Ivy, in the wild, wolves use howls to call in their pack. It’s an instinct of pack animals. Zombies come from humans. They still keep that instinct.”
“Is that so?”
Ivy wasn’t sure.
Regina was shocked by the explanation too and looked at Cecilia in surprise.
They’d never heard anything like this before.
Truth was, they didn’t know much about zombies at all.
They only knew that before the apocalypse, a terrifying virus had swept across the world.
People got infected and died.
After death, they turned into walking corpses that attacked the living.
Ivy frowned. “If what you’re saying is true, then we have to get out of here first.”
“Yes.”
Cecilia glanced toward Southridge.
Once zombies evolved, they gained intelligence too.
In her last life, that advanced zombie had appeared in Southridge.
Now a level two zombie had shown up in Northbank.

Was it possible this level two zombie was calling that advanced zombie over?
Or other level two or level three zombies?
The second guess seemed more likely.
But even if it was only level three zombies coming,
Timothy and the others still couldn’t handle it.
As for her…
In the apocalypse, she’d mainly trained her body.
She hadn’t recovered much yet. Killing a level two zombie was already pushing it.
Better to save her strength.
Escaping together came first.
that’s the case, should we go call Timothy and the others back now?”
ina looked toward the supermarket where the fight was still going on and moved to open the car door.
But nearby, they could already see several regular zombies gathering in response to the noise.
Her face changed, and she hesitated to get out.
Cecilia pushed the door open decisively and said to them, “I’ll go call them. You stay in the car.”
“Cece?”
Ivy was stunned.
Seeing the zombies approaching, she tried to grab Cecilia but missed.
She could only watch as Cecilia sprinted toward the supermarket.
Less than half a mile out, a regular zombie ran fast and lunged straight at Cecilia.
Ivy’s pupils shrank as she screamed, “Cece, watch out!”
The next second, bang.
Cecilia dodged swiftly.
The zombie slammed straight into the truck bed.
She didn’t even look back and kept running into the supermarket.
Ivy fell silent.

Regina stared in disbelief. “She’s so fast…”
It really was unexpected.
A version of Cecilia she’d never seen before.
Ivy pressed her lips together and said quietly, “She… she used to dance.”
So that explained her speed?
The logic was questionable.
Bun in was barely an explanation people could accept.
Regina glanced at Ivy.
Knowing Ivy didn’t want to say more, she wisely dropped the topic.
Either way, it didn’t change the fact that Cecilia’s earlier behavior had been seriously annoying.
Finish
Inside the supermarket, the level two zombie had already been knocked back several times by Timothy and the others.
But it was tough and thick–skinned, not easy to injure.
Sweat poured down Timothy, Hendrick, and Ryan’s faces.
“What the hell is wrong with this thing? It’s like trying to grab soap!”
Ryan panted, looking at Timothy and Hendrick with a bitter smile. “My ability is drained!!
Hearing that, Timothy looked at Hendrick.
Hendrick’s face was dark. “I won’t last much longer either.”
This zombie was wearing them down on purpose.
The guns they’d just gotten weren’t helping much at all.
It dodged too fast, faster than they’d imagined.
And aside from the first three shots that missed, Timothy didn’t dare fire agravim.
Gunshots were too loud.
They’d easily draw in the regular zombies they’d just lured away
If they couldn’t finish this one and got surrounded again, that waddl be true despair.
Ryan was just about to suggest running when he glanced outside and saw Cecilia rush in.
His eyes went wide as he shouted, “Are you stupid? Trying to get yourself killed? Why are you coming back?”

Cecilia ignored him and looked at Timothy and Hendrick. “That zombie just called for reinforcements. There’ll be others at the same level heading this way. We need to run. Now.”
Timothy and Hendrick both froze.
“Same level?”
Hendrick narrowed his eyes and stared at her dangerously. He asked on purpose, “Then tell me. What leve do you think this thing is?”
“Level two.”
Cecilia didn’t hide it.
She glanced at Timothy and added, “To kill it, you’d need three of you.”
Timothy and Hendrick both froze.
Ryan clearly didn’t believe her and snorted. “You useless freeloader, what nonsense are you spoutingi You’ve barely killed any zombies. You sit in the safe house all day, and now you’re making up zombie levels?”
Cecilia glanced at him. “Believe it or not. If you die here, I’m not collecting your body”
