Chapter 252 A Small Rift
“Something like that.”
Even he couldn’t explain it. He just felt irritated for no clear reason.

Timothy raised an eyebrow when he saw his mood. He asked on purpose, “Hendrick, what do you think of Blake?”
“Huh?”
Hendrick paused, confused. “Why are you asking me? I barely know him.”
“But he’s a Level 4 psychic ability user. Looks like Cecelia personally recruited him.”
“So what does that have to do with me?”
Hendrick cut him off, clearly annoyed. “Instead of guessing what Blake’s like, why don’t we focus on our plan to hunt a Level 4 mutated zombie?”
“Hendrick, you…”

Timothy looked conflicted, about to say more, when Ryan’s voice came from the side. “What’s going on? You two having a fight?”
Timothy gave him a speechless look.
“No. What did you even hear?”
“I heard Hendrick telling you to stop worrying about Blake and start planning the hunt. Timothy, don’t tell me you think Blake’s amazing and want to recruit him from Cecelia’s team?”
“No.”
Timothy sighed. “Yeah, Blake is strong. But Regina is quite powerful herself. Once she levels up, she’ll be just as impressive. There’s no need to steal someone from another team. Besides, if he joined Cecelia, he must have his reasons.”
“Yeah, you make sense.”
Ryan scratched his head awkwardly. “I was just joking!”
“Mm.” Timothy nodded. “If there’s nothing else, get some sleep.”
“What about the level 4 hunt plan?”

“We’ll discuss it in the car tomorrow.”
“Got it!”
Ryan rushed upstairs like a gust of wind.

Timothy turned back to Hendrick and said helplessly, “I was just asking. We’re working with Cecelia’s team right now. If we get along with Blake, maybe he can give Regina some pointers. That’s all. Don’t overthink it.”
“I know.”
Hendrick then said calmly, “Everything we do is for the team’s growth.”
“Exactly.”
Timothy smiled. “I’m heading to bed. You take first watch. Wake me up later.”
“Mm.” Hendrick grunted.
Timothy said nothing more and went back to his room.
Upstairs.
Ryan stood by the stairs and whispered to Matthew, “I swear, I just heard Timothy and Hendrick arguing about Blake. Hendrick sounded really annoyed. I’ve never heard him talk like that before!”
Matthew glanced at him. “You went downstairs for water and came back with gossip?”
“Come on! Don’t you see how serious this is? Timothy and Hendrick arguing over an outsider? That’s never happened before!”
“I think you misheard.”
“No way!”
“What you’re saying could shake the whole team.”
Timothy fell silent.
“If Regina heard this news, she’d be panicked. What if Timothy and Hendrick split? What happens to our team then?”
“Th–that won’t happen, right?”
Ryan instantly panicked. He slapped his own cheeks twice. “I’m talking nonsense. Forget I said

anything”
Matthew looked at him seriously. “Some thoughts are better kept to yourself. Like when you feel like snapping at Cecelia–just keep your mouth shut.”
“Hey, I don’t even want to argue with her anymore,” Ryan said, a bit guilty.
Matthew gave him a look. “Whether it’s true or not, don’t jump to conclusions.”
“Got it!”
Ryan added irritably, “I won’t think or talk nonsense anymore, okay?”
“Good.”
Matthew turned and went back to his room.
Ryan quickly followed, then couldn’t help adding, “Maybe we should do what Cecelia did. Recruit a strong ability user for our team. Five people feels like not enough. We still need to work with two teams to take down zombies stronger than us.”
“That’s not a bad idea. You can bring it up to Timothy tomorrow.”
“Alright!”
The next day, Cecelia woke up a little after 6 a.m.
Mostly because her blank space wasn’t just for raising animals–it could also be used for sleeping.
Not long ago, she had Tiger drag a bed under the tree.
After training, she would lie down and sleep. Once she woke up, she’d keep training.
Two hours outside felt like five days inside.
Logically, that kind of time difference should feel strange–like being split between two worlds. But maybe she was too focused while training. That sense of time drift didn’t bother her much.
She relied on the digital clock Tiger brought in to keep track.
“Meow.”
Ginger had already claimed both the bed and the clock as his own.
When Cecelia came back, breathing hard from training, the cat would run over and meow

Cecelia didn’t hold back. She gave him a good, firm pet, then looked up at the tree nearby.
It had already sprouted new buds, with fresh branches and bright green leaves.
“That’s strange. How does it grow like this? Every time I toss a crystal into the pool, it seems to change a little.”
“Meow.”
The little cat didn’t understand a thing and just responded randomly.
During her break, Cecelia walked closer to examine the tree.
The cracks in its trunk had already healed.
To be honest, when she first saw this tree appear in the blank space, it looked like it was about to die.
