Ryan, who had just returned after vomiting, heard this and became furious.

He glared at Cecelia, gritting his teeth. “You lazy bum! Your guess was wrong! We wasted so much time and almost got killed!”

“Got it!” Matthew’s voice rang out again.

Chapter 28 Zombie Crystal

Ryan froze.

Timothy, Hendrick, and the others looked at Matthew.

Matthew used his dagger to pick out a slimy chunk from the zombie’s brain that Cecelia had pointed out.

It was about half the size of a ping–pong ball.

It felt hard when he poked it with the dagger.

“Go get a bottle of water!”

Timothy said quietly to Regina, keeping his emotions in check.

Regina hurried back into the villa.

When the water arrived, Timothy walked toward Matthew.

Matthew scraped the chunk with his dagger.

They poured the water over it.

The disgusting slime washed away, revealing its true color.

He looked at Cecelia. “What … does this do?”

The moment he asked, he felt a strange excitement, as if they were about to get a very important answer- one that could change their future!

Timothy was confused, too.

What use was this zombie crystal?

Cecelia’s guess was right.

It really was important.

It could be used later to judge how strong a zombie was.

Ryan stared at Cecelia oddly, as if he were thinking, Let’s see what story you’re gonna make up now.

“Have you guys never read any apocalypse novels?” Cecelia shot back at them.

“So that’s why when the apocalypse came, you knew nothing,” Cecelia said, crossing her arms and giving him a cool glance.

“But my guess about finding the crystal turned out right, didn’t it? Aren’t you supposed to call me boss now?”

“You just got lucky! Wild guess, that’s all!” Ryan’s face turned red with anger.

There was no way he would ever call Cecelia–this useless girl–Boss.

“Oh! So you can’t handle losing, huh?” Cecelia shrugged.

“It’s fine. I already figured this would happen. You’d never admit you lost.”

Ryan gritted his teeth and glared at Cecelia, completely furious. “I don’t accept it! You just got lucky, that’s
