Cecelia turned to Timothy and Hendrick. “What do you think? You thought this was just about a piece of candy?”
Timothy cleared his throat and spoke to Ivy. “The candy isn’t the point. What matters is what Matthew said earlier. That woman came here with a plan.”
What surprised him most was Cecelia’s quick reaction.
She had seen through Zera almost right away.
The goal was obvious. Zera was trying to flirt with Matthew.
Hendrick crossed his arms and smirked at Cecelia. Zera’s performance was worse than yours.”
“I’ll take that as praise,” Cecelia said with a shrug.
She looked around and admitted it openly. “Yes, I saw everything. Zera ignored the girls. She ‘accidentally‘ fell into Matthew’s arms. She called him Matt and asked for candy. Poor Matthew turned bright red. That’s when I decided to put on my own little show and expose what she was really doing.”
She had already played the villain.
No point hiding it now.
Ivy looked surprised. “So you saw all that.”
Matthew’s face flushed again, this time from embarrassment. He quickly explained. “Sorry, everyone. I was confused. She said her blood sugar was low and she couldn’t stand. I just thought I should help. I figured it was only about giving her a piece of candy.”
He never imagined she had come to flirt with him.
Why him?
The more he thought about it, the worse he felt.
“So that’s what happened!” Ryan clapped his hands, his eyes lighting up.
He was an adult. Cecelia explained it so clearly he finally understood.
Ryan looked at Matthew’s big, honest face. Then he glanced at Timothy and Hendrick, both tall and good- looking.
He couldn’t help saying, “That girl is strange. If she wanted to flirt with someone, shouldn’t she choose Timothy or Hendrick? They’re the strongest in our group!”
The comment sounded a little blunt, but it was true.
Matthew sighed. “Maybe she thought I looked easier to deal with.”

“Yeah, that must be it,” Ryan agreed.

Regina paused and analyzed carefully. “Timothy and Hendrick look hard to approach. People wouldn’t dare mess with them. Zera seems calculating. She probably picked the person in the group who looked easiest to handle.”
She said person, not man.
That included the girls.
In the apocalypse, women were often the first to show sympathy.
Timothy frowned slightly and looked at Cecelia. “You handled this well,” he said calmly.
By exposing Zera early, Cecelia had warned everyone.
At first glance, a woman like Zera joining the team might not seem like a problem.
But in reality, it was dangerous.
i
If she could use flirting to enter the team, she could use the same trick to stir conflict and break the group apart.
What Cecelia did today removed that risk early.
Timothy’s voice turned colder. “Tomorrow we move out. They’re leaving our team.”
Ryan frowned. “What if they keep following us?” He sounded annoyed. “If they trail us, they’ll only cause
rouble.”
Timothy nodded. “Then tomorrow night we leave quietly and avoid them.”
He looked at Ivy again. “Use the level–2 zombie crystals tonight. Upgrade your ability.” .
[vy nodded. “Okay.”
“The food’s not ready yet. I’ll go check,” Matthew said, scratching his head as he headed inside.
Regina followed him.
But Cecelia’s gaze stayed fixed on the small house where Brian and the others were resting.
Anyone could tell Zera’s fainting had been fake.
Cecelia narrowed her eyes. She wanted to take another look.
“Still not done playing?” Hendrick asked, arms crossed, raising an eyebrow.
Cecelia glanced at him. “Want to come with me?”
Hendrick studied her, eyes narrowing slightly.
“The hostility you showed toward Zera was way too obvious. There must be more than just some old

Of course, in the whole team, this sly man was the sharpest.
