Apocalypse God Mode: Unlocked (Cecilia) novel Chapter 7

From the looks of it, Cecelia was indeed sleeping soundly.

In reality, she had already run 20 miles, done 2000 sit-ups, and 2000 push-ups inside the blank space.

She had held planks and done high knees for so long that her strength was completely drained.

She had no idea how much time had passed.

Every time she exhausted herself, she returned to the cobalt fluid to restore her energy, then pushed on again and again.

Only then did she notice that the liquid in the small six-square-foot pool had dropped by a third.

Cecelia suddenly came to her senses. "This stuff gets used up.”

She took a deep breath, unwilling to rely on the cobalt fluid to restore her energy anymore.

Even so, exercising without any time limits felt both exhausting and refreshing.

At the very least, she could clearly feel that her body was stronger than when she had first been reborn.

It should be enough for tomorrow's mission.

This last-minute training spree was mainly because she didn't want to run for her life with a fragile body and end up gasping for breath.

Perhaps because she hadn't restored much energy this time, the moment Cecelia left the blank space, a wave of exhaustion hit her.

She was tired, but there was no soreness in her arms or legs.

She glanced at the time.

Only two hours had passed.

But based on the time difference, she had spent about ten days in the blank space.

Cecelia suddenly felt like she had stolen a huge amount of time.

Still, without the fluid to replenish her strength, her exhaustion was real.

She lay down on the bed and slowly started to feel sleepy.

The joy of being reborn gradually faded under the weight of reality.

Cecelia glanced at the empty bed beside her and suddenly remembered that she had insisted on sleeping alone before and had driven Ivy away.

Now, Ivy was sharing a room with Regina.

Then, a thought struck her.

She suddenly sat up and walked out.

...

Ivy had just stepped out of the bathroom in Regina's room.

Regina was on the bed fiddling with her laptop, and she looked up at Ivy. "Are you going to sleep?”

Ivy nodded. "Yeah, Cece is asleep too. We should sleep early.”

"Okay.”

Regina shut her laptop and pulled the covers around herself.

Seeing her like that made Ivy think of Cecelia, who used to be just as well-behaved.

Knock, knock.

Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the door.

Ivy paused for a second, then went to open it.

Cecelia stood there holding a pillow while looking at her awkwardly. In a small voice, she asked, "Ivy, can you come back to our room and sleep with me?”

"Huh?”

Ivy blinked. "Cece, you—”

"If it is inconvenient, then forget it.”

Cecelia felt a flush on her cheeks, and the tips of her ears grew warm.

It had been a long time since she had wanted attention from her sister.

Having been reborn and reunited with the sister she had been apart from for seven years, Cecelia could not help wanting to make up for past regrets.

This included small stuff like sleeping beside Ivy again.

"Sure.”

Ivy smiled and gently patted her head with tender affection.

The corners of Cecelia's eyes stung again. "Mhm."

After informing Regina, Ivy followed Cecelia back to her room.

Ivy was extremely important to the team.

Her healing ability was only level 2, yet she could heal an arm with a severed blood vessel, not to mention minor injuries and illnesses.

In this apocalypse, where medicine and supplies were scarce, Ivy was crucial to any team.

That was why he had been willing to overlook Cecelia, that freeloader, just to keep Ivy.

But now, if Ivy was going to leave because of Cecelia—

Timothy's face darkened again as he glanced at Hendrick.

He had to admit, the suggestion was tempting.

But—

"It's still a life.” Timothy sighed and rubbed his temples.

Hendrick understood his personality and sneered. "You just have too many principles, but this isn't how you put them into practice. Cecelia's behavior clearly harms the team's interests. Today she harmed Ryan without hesitation. What about next time? Maybe she will not even care about her sister's life.”

Timothy fell silent.

What Hendrink said was true.

Even as an outsider, he had felt disappointed by the way Cecelia treated Ivy over the past month.

He imagined that if he had a sister like that, he would have made the same choice as Ivy.

The difference was that he would have done everything he could to change his sister.

He wouldn't spoil her the way Ivy spoiled Cecelia.

Seeing that he was still hesitating, Hendrick squinted and said, "I'll take care of everything tomorrow when we head out. You just act like you don't know anything. Ivy's simple. She won't suspect a thing. As long as we both keep quiet, no one will know I killed Cecelia."

"Hendrick...”

Timothy looked at him, frowning deeply.

He could tell that Hendrick truly intended to kill Cecelia this time.

He felt a little reluctant. "Give her one more chance. If she still doesn't change after this mission, you can find another chance to make your move,” he said with a sigh.

Hendrick narrowed his eyes and replied lazily, "Fine.”

He was willing to let her off this once.
