Just as the zombies outside were about to break in, someone suddenly jumped in from the balcony.

That person rushed forward and tackled the female zombie to the ground.

After seeing who it was, Ivy shouted in surprise, “Cece!”

When Cecelia and the others heard the gunshots, they rushed back.

Hendrick headed straight for the front entrance of the safe house.

Cecelia noticed that she could see the backs of zombies even from the balcony.

A bad feeling hit her immediately.

Without hesitation, she kicked aside the level 1 zombie corpse on the ground and climbed up along the drainpipe.

In less than a minute, she balanced on the edge of the balcony railing.

Just then, she heard Ryan shouting in frustration, “Shit! I’m out of ammo!”

Cecelia’s expression changed as she immediately lunged toward the zombie’s back.

Her dagger plunged hard into its brain, twisting twice.

The zombie instantly went still.

Ivy’s delighted voice sounded from directly in front of her. “Cece!”

Cecelia took a breath, pulled out the dagger, and stood up to look around the room.

Aside from Ryan, who was still fighting a level 1 zombie with a chair, everyone else seemed unharmed.

Hendrick had also rushed in through the front door.

He immediately used wind blades to slice off the heads of the level 1 zombies near the doorway.

Including the one Ryan had been struggling with.

The zombies all collapsed.

Ryan, drenched in sweat, slumped onto the floor and gasped for air.

Hendrick glanced at Matthew. “Is everyone okay?”

Matthew shook his head. “No injuries.

“Regina isn’t feeling well. Probably from overusing her ability. Her face is completely pale.”

Ivy kept using her ability on Regina, but it clearly wasn’t helping.

Regina lay in Ivy’s arms, her face pale with pain. She bit her lip hard as her body trembled and twitched slightly.

Cecelia frowned and quickly stepped forward, grabbing Regina’s hand. “It might be because she lost control of her psychic ability.”

“What do you mean?”

Ivy was stunned, looking confused.

Cecelia explained, “Psychic abilities are stronger than most other abilities because they’re harder to control. If she can’t learn to control it soon, it could actually kill her. And… There’s nothing we can do to help. She has to handle it herself.”

“How could that happen?”

Matthew frowned deeply, worry written all over his face as he looked at Regina.

Hendrick turned to Cecelia and asked in a low voice, “Is there really no solution?”

She glanced at him. “Imagine if a huge amount of messy and chaotic information suddenly flooded into your brain. Everyone talking at once, all those voices rushing in together. What would that feel like? Right now, she’s not only hearing us talk. She can hear our heartbeats, footsteps, breathing–everything.”

The moment she said that, Matthew, Ivy, and Ryan were completely stunned.

Were psychic abilities that terrifying?

Hendrick frowned and turned to Matthew. “Put her on the bed first.”

Matthew nodded and immediately picked Regina up, placing her gently on the bed.

Once she lay flat, she seemed slightly better.

At least her body stopped twitching.

But before they could finish dealing with that, the sound of fighting came from downstairs again!

Hendrick’s expression changed slightly, and he quickly turned to run downstairs.

Ryan staggered to his feet and hurried after him.

Matthew’s face changed. “Timothy is back. He must be fighting a mutated zombie downstairs.”

Cecelia nodded and said to him, “You stay here. I’ll go take a look.”

Matthew froze for a moment.
