Chapter 87 Not Simple

Amber suddenly sat up when she heard the door open.

She saw Cecelia walking in. Cecelia was holding a zombie’s head in her hand.

Amber looked confused.

She had no idea what Cecelia was about to do. Still, she stretched out her hand.

The next second, Cecelia used the cleaned dagger and cut a small wound across Amber’s palm.

Amber felt a sharp pain right away. She looked even more confused.

Then Cecelia placed the crystal onto the wound in her palm. “Close your hand around it,” Cecelia said. “Then close your eyes and tell me what you feel.”

Amber didn’t answer.

What am I supposed to feel?

To her, the thing dug out of the zombie’s head was just hard and sharp.

But the next moment, her palm suddenly became hot.

Startled, she tried to throw the crystal away.

But Cecelia quickly grabbed her hand and held it down. “What do you feel now?” Cecelia asked.

“It’s really hot!”

Amber felt the burning in her palm getting stronger. Her face began to look worse and worse. “Cecelia, what are you doing?”

“This is one step to awaken an ability,” Cecelia explained. “If you feel something, it means you have talent. Your ability should awaken soon. But before that, you’ll have to suffer a little.”

Even Cecelia didn’t really understand the science behind it.

After saying that, Cecelia sat down on the sofa across from her.

Amber soon fell from the couch onto the floor because of the pain.

But her hand still held the crystal tightly.

She couldn’t see or touch the energy inside the crystal. But her body could feel it.

Soon she understood what Cecelia meant.

It felt like something new was appearing inside her body. She could even feel a strange energy moving through her veins.

As time passed, the pain became stronger. At the same time, her ability was slowly awakening.

An hour later, Cecelia opened her eyes and looked down.

Amber was lying on the floor, completely passed out.
