Chapter 5
The moment the plane stopped, I turned my phone back on. Instantly, a flood of missed calls and messages surged in. Among them was a notification of payment received.
The airport broadcast chimed. “We apologize for the inconvenience. As compensation, all tickets for today will be reimbursed at ten times their value, courtesy of the Rosewood Pack.”
Every complaint inside the cabin fell silent. Several she-wolves behind me grew excited.
“Who do you think Silas Thorn is looking for? He’s grounded the entire terminal just for her. Such a fierce
obsession.”
While they squealed, I scrolled through my messages and finally understood everything.
Silas had gone to the Silvermoon Pack at dawn to find me. When he didn’t see me, he stormed straight into my bedroom.
He saw my empty drawers. He saw all the gifts he had ever given me neatly arranged on the desk.
Silas exploded. He nearly tore the entire Silvermoon Pack apart looking for me. He called me over and over, but by then I was already in the plane.
That was why he ordered all flights to land and return. I stepped off the plane, standing in the airport with my suitcase, frozen in indecision.
Should I go back?
Silas had bought out every single flight just to find me. The terminal was swarming with people. Search teams swept through the area.
Anyone remotely attractive was stopped and questioned. Then Silas arrived. He passed by me so closely
that I felt the warmth of his breath.
It was as if the Moon Goddess herself had brushed her hand over fate. He was drenched in sweat, calling my number again and again.
My phone vibrated endlessly. When I didn’t answer, he nearly smashed his phone against the ground. His guards returned with nothing.
For the first time, the golden Alpha prince of the Rosewood Pack looked like a man drowning on dry land.
“Where is she? Keep blocking flights. No plane is allowed to fly north.”
I pulled up the departure board and silently changed my destination. If I flew somewhere else first, I could transfer later. As long as I did not fly directly north, I could slip past the blockade.
Silas came for me. But he came too late.
My Alpha father had already agreed to send me to the Icefield Pack. He would not risk offending the ruthless

I switched to a different city and waited for the next boarding call. Meanwhile, social media buzzed with post after post.

Passengers near me gossiped without pause.
“That kind of devotion is so romantic. If someone pursued me like that, I’d say yes instantly.”
“Well you don’t get it. Last night at the Bonding Gala, Silas picked a nameless Cinderella from the slums instead of the Alpha daughter who grew up at his side.”
“What? So he regrets it today?”
I sipped my coffee and kept listening to gossip about myself.
“I mean, it’s not really a loss. That Freya girl has impure blood. Silas seemed to be interested in her though. He spoiled her a lot.”
“Still doesn’t make sense. If Silas had to choose, he should pick someone like me. Pure bloodline, strong background…”
Realizing they might recognize me, I stood quickly and walked away. But the girl speaking had sharp eyes. The moment she saw my face, she froze.
“You’re… you’re her?”
She glanced at Silas in the distance, still searching frantically.
“He’s looking for you? Then why are you…?”
