Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Leo and I met at the pack university.
Back then, I was just another she-wolf blending into the background. He, on the other hand, was impossible
to ignore. Good looks, perfect build, top of his class, and the Alpha heir of the Windridge Pack. Everything
about him screamed privilege and power.
I had always known the difference between us.
I was insecure back then. Whenever I stood beside him, I never believed we had a future. I kept our
relationship quiet, afraid of what people would say and even more afraid of believing in something that could
never last.
When we held our mating ceremony, I insisted on keeping it discreet. No celebration, no announcements.
Because of that, most of our classmates never even realized that Leo and I were mates.
After work that night, I rushed straight to a university alumni gathering.
The moment I stepped into the private room, I saw them.
Leo and Liora.
She only had to glance at him for him to understand. He poured her tea, passed her snacks, watched her
with careful attention. Gentle. Patient. Almost reverent.
The people around them could not resist teasing.
“Wow. Look at Alpha Leo. Who knew he had such a soft side? The two of you look so sweet. Even the Moon Goddess would be jealous.”
The atmosphere shifted instantly.
Leo’s expression froze. Liora’s smile stiffened, just barely holding together.
In my previous life, this had been the day everything broke.
It was that same night when I exposed Liora in front of everyone, calling her the other woman. I had even thrown money at her, thanking her for giving birth to Leo’s pup.
Unable to endure the contempt in everyone’s eyes, she had broken down and run out.
Leo had looked at me then with a smile that held no warmth at all. His gaze was sharp and cold, slicing straight through me.
I truly believed humiliating him like that would make him wake up. That he would finally return to our family.
Instead, Liora went back home, left behind a suicide note, and jumped from the rooftop.
After that, Leo turned all his grief into hatred for me. Again and again, he brought home she-wolves who

vaguely resembled her. He let them mock me, provoke me, trample on me, and he never once stopped them.
Later, he did not even spare our pup.
The memories slammed into my chest without warning. My heart tightened, beating too fast.
I forced the pain down, put on a polite smile, and walked toward an empty seat.
“Sorry. I’m late.”
The moment I spoke, I felt Leo’s cold gaze sweep over me.
My former roommate Lily noticed nothing.
She nudged me lightly and leaned close, whispering, “What happened to you? Didn’t you say you were finally going to confess to Leo after graduation? And then nothing? Now he has a mate and a pup. You must regret it to death.”
Regret?
Yes.
I regretted marrying him.
Across the table, I watched Leo carefully peel shrimp for Liora, his focus unwavering. A bitter ache settled in my chest.
“When you miss your chance, it’s gone,” I thought. “We were never supposed to last.”
As the mood grew warmer, people relaxed and started talking freely.
“Back then, Alpha Leo and Riley were such a perfect pair. I really thought they were destined mates. Who would have guessed they’d both end up with new mates instead?”
The speaker was clearly drunk, shaking his head in regret.
My heart skipped.
Because it was true.
Once, we had been happy.
Leo used to know everything about me. What I liked, what I was allergic to, what I was thinking even when I said nothing at all.
Whenever I sulked in silence, he always found a way to pull me out of it.
Just like now. The moment Liora frowned, he already knew what she wanted.
Leo’s face darkened immediately.
