"Yes, I'm here to see Sam." Madison nodded at Ethan and walked off, ignoring him.
A glint flashed in Ethan's eyes as he watched her leave. Then he led his assistant out of the office.
Once they were in the car, his assistant asked in confusion, "Why did you acknowledge Madison, Mr. Goodwin? Mr. Goodwin Senior detests her."
"We aren't friends. All I did was say hello," Ethan replied carelessly. "Besides, I'm on Sam's territory right now. I should show some respect to the person he cares about."
His assistant agreed and asked, "Where are we going now?"
"Let's go and see my grandfather. Although I'm working at the headquarters, I don't have any important projects on hand at the moment. That means that I won't be able to accomplish anything, and people can't see how good I am."
Ethan's eyes narrowed slightly. If William wanted him to teach Sam a lesson, he would have to put in some effort.
…
Meanwhile, all the staff of Goodwin Corp were complaining in their group chat about Madison turning up at the office again.
"Even though she had nothing to do with Project ET, I always feel like we get nothing but bad news whenever she shows up."
"I feel the same way. She's not cursed, is she?"
"I think she might be. Look at her! Her entire family is dead, and she's the only one who's still alive. Do you think she brings bad luck to those around her?"
"Wow, now that you mention it, I think it's true! Can't we tell Mr. Goodwin to stop her from coming?"
"You all know very well that Mr. Goodwin spoils her terribly."
"Ugh, I hate hopeless romantics!"
Sienna looked thoughtful when she saw the messages in the group chat. She had thought that what had happened previously would be enough to make Sam dislike and abandon Madison.
