Instead of answering Madison's question, Sam asked, "What brings you here?"
"I went to the security firm. When I noticed it was almost time to get off work, I thought I'd come over and pick you up. Do you want to leave work early today, Sam?"
Madison lifted her face and smiled invitingly at Sam.
Sam's eyes turned dark all of a sudden. His fingers brushed Madison's lips tantalizingly, and he asked in a low voice, "What should we do after we get off work?"
Madison stiffened when she felt his fingers caressing her lips. A rising sense of revulsion washed over her.
Her expression changed abruptly. She hastily broke free of his arms, stood up, and rushed to the restroom.
Sam followed her, looking worried. However, he was shut outside and could only hear the sound of her dry retching inside.
"Are you alright, Madison?" He knocked on the door.
All he heard was the sound of her continuing to dry retch.
The sounds finally stopped after a while.
Madison looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were red, and she felt terrible.
She had thought that if she didn't dwell on those things, she would eventually forget those disgusting scenes. She hadn't expected her body to remember those things so vividly.
Sam's voice came from outside once more, sounding worried. "How are you feeling, Madison?"
"I'm fine. I just suddenly felt a bit nauseous," Madison said. She took one last look at herself in the mirror before taking a deep breath and turning to leave the restroom.
When she went out, she saw Sam standing at the door. She put on a relaxed expression and slid an arm around him. "It's alright, I'm fine. Let's go."
"Are you really alright?" Sam looked down at her.
She smiled and said, "Really. Come on. Let's quickly leave."
She pulled him away.
Sam pressed his lips together but did not say anything else.
