"You're saying Madison got arrested?"
In the project manager's office at Goodwin Corp, Ethan listened to his subordinate's report over the phone and sat up straight in surprise.
It wasn't clear what the person on the line said, but he suddenly chuckled, a smirk playing on his lips. "Even fate seems to be on my side. Get in touch with the reporters and have them report extensively on Madison's tax evasion!
"Also, make sure the reporters hint at Madison's relationship with Sam. Have them lead the public to wonder whether he might also be evading taxes."
As the current head of the family, no reporter would dare write about Sam without explicit instructions. They didn't even dare report on him.
…
At the same time, Sam received a call from Brett, who told him Madison had been taken away by the Department of Revenue. He immediately called for Sienna and instructed, "Contact the legal team and have Howard Zeeks meet me downstairs in three minutes."
Noticing Sam's dark expression, Sienna looked over with concern. "Mr. Goodwin, did something happen?"
Sam glanced at her coldly. "Whatever happened has nothing to do with you. Just do as I say."
Upon hearing Sam's icy tone, Sienna's expression stiffened for a moment before she quietly agreed and contacted the legal team.
After she hung up, she wanted to ask Sam when he would be back since he had a lunch appointment, but then she realized he had already left when she wasn't looking.
She stood in the office with an unpleasant expression. She felt extremely resentful.
All these years, she had worked diligently at Sam's side. Why couldn't he look her way?
Besides, so many days have passed, but why has there still been no word from her father?
With that on her mind, she left the office. She wanted to call her father from the stairwell and ask what was going on.
She had only taken a couple of steps when she heard complaints coming from the secretary's office.
