Back in Time to Fall for Him novel Chapter 50

After ten minutes, Johnny and Kaitlyn emerged fully dressed. Madison had arranged in advance for one of the hotel staff to wait outside their room and lead them to a private dining room.

They immediately drew everyone's attention when they walked in.

"You're all here." Johnny smiled in embarrassment and greeted everyone to make the atmosphere less awkward.

Their remaining classmates returned his smile awkwardly. "Johnny, Madison asked us to stay back as witnesses."

Johnny and Kaitlyn felt their hearts sink as a sense of foreboding washed over them.

Seeing their expressions, Madison crossed her arms over her chest as she said coldly, "Since you've come, let's settle the score."

"Maddie…" Kaitlyn looked pleadingly at Madison.

However, Madison cut her off sharply. "Don't call me that. It's disgusting!"

The others exchanged looks. They could barely disguise their enjoyment of all the drama.

Janet grinned scornfully at Kaitlyn. "Are all the it girls so thick-skinned? Why do you look like you're a victim when you slept with someone else's fiance? Are you about to say that you're innocent, and Johnny forced himself on you?"

Her abrupt attack made Kaitlyn turn pale, then bright red.

She glared hatefully at Janet and was about to say something when Johnny hissed a warning through clenched teeth. "Keep talking if you want Madison to hate both of us."

Johnny looked guiltily at Madison, ignoring Kaitlyn's expression. "Maddie, Kaitlyn sent me a text last night saying that you were unwell.

"She told me to come and take care of you, so I rushed over because I was so worried about you. However, the room was dark when I went in. Someone hugged me from behind, and I thought it was you, so I…"

Although he did not finish his sentence, everyone understood what he meant, and their eyes lit up. How exciting!

At that moment, the young woman who had been at the jacuzzi with Madison and the others the night before cried out in surprise, "But Kaitlyn was clearly the one who was feeling unwell last night! Why did Johnny say it was Madison?"

Kaitlyn had been planning to clear her own name by using her condition the night before as an excuse, but she hesitated at the last moment.

She had remembered how the police had ended up taking Johnny away the last time he had drugged Madison.

Kaitlyn hadn't been particularly sophisticated in slipping Madison the drug the night before. The police would be sure to trace it to her if they investigated.

After all, she was the one who had asked for the wine. Apart from the hotel staff, she was the only one who had touched it.

Meanwhile, Janet snorted at Johnny's explanation and began scorning them once more. "Johnny, Kaitlyn is more than half a head shorter than Madison.

"Tell me, how did you take her for Madison? Besides, they don't even sound the same. Even if you couldn't see, were you also deaf?"

Johnny's cheeks stung with embarrassment at her mockery. However, he could not think of anything to retort. He felt a tightness in his chest.

Madison was delighted to see how stumped he was. She deliberately chimed in and said sarcastically, "Exactly. Even if you couldn't see, couldn't you recognize my voice?"
