Sam icily instructed, "Get this mess cleaned up, then send the bill to Madison."
Then he turned and reentered the elevator, pressing the button for the top floor. As the door closed on him, Sam's cool expression finally broke a little, showing some pain and self-deprecation. Was this how his employees all saw him—a man pathetically in love with Madison?
Everyone could see the way he felt for her, everyone but Madison herself.
No. It wasn't that she couldn't see it. She was just pretending to see it. So, what was she trying to do? Why did her attitude toward him suddenly change?
The more Sam thought about it, the more questions he got. However, Madison knew nothing about this.
As Madison exited the Goodwin Corp, she stood by the side of the street and stared at Johnny expressionless.
"I heard you caused a scene because you wanted to see me. What is it? Do you have the money to repay your debts?"
"Maddie—"
Johnny had just begun when Madison interrupted him in disgust, "Don't call me that. You disgust me. I've said, call me, Ms. Quinn."
Johnny suddenly felt a little anxious upon seeing how icy Madison was.
"Maddie, are you still angry at me? I know that I've done wrong. I thought it was you the other day, which was why I couldn't hold back."
He tried to hold Madison's hand, but she swerved. She said with contempt, "Don't you dare touch me. If not, I'll call the police and sue you for sexual harassment."
Johnny looked at her in bewilderment, as if not believing she would say such a thing. Disappointment grew in his gaze.
She said, "Three months. You won't get another day more. Rather than trying to harass me, you should think about how you're going to get the money instead."
Then, she turned around and left.
Johnny glared at her, watching her disappear from his sight before leaving the place grimly.
One man had been watching this entire scene unfold. He had relatively soft facial features that looked rather like Sam's. It was his cousin, Ethan.
Ethan recognized Madison.
He narrowed his gaze as he saw Madison and Jonny leaving.
