Back in Time to Fall for Him novel Chapter 79

Naturally, Madison didn't know about Johnny and Kaitlyn's plan.

She spent the next two days learning from Sam. Perhaps she didn't have a natural flair for management, so the learning curve was extremely steep.

Within just two days, dark circles had formed under her eyes. It was as if she had been working late for ten days in a row. Her once-clear, bright eyes had turned dim too.

Madison started binge drinking coffee and had three cups in just half a day. Even so, she still felt exhausted.

Besides, she couldn't sleep as she still had to organize many things. She had to slap herself to stay awake.

Sam heard Madison slapping herself and looked up from his documents. He noticed her bloodshot eyes and how she was trying to stay awake. His heart ached for her.

"Madison," he called out.

She looked over. "Sam, what is it?"

Meeting her gaze, he furrowed his brows and asked, "Have you been staying up late the past two days?"

"Just a little. I wanted to familiarize myself with all the information that you've given me." Madison looked at Sam shiftily.

Of course, Sam saw through her right away and sighed. "You don't have to rush this. No one is rushing you. You can take your time."

Madison felt a warmth spreading through her heart. Before she could say anything, Sam said irrefutably, "Go and get some sleep."

"No—"

Before she could finish her protest, Sam interrupted her, "You keep yawning here, and that won't increase your efficiency at all. Have a good rest, then you can continue working."

Madison agreed with him since she had barely read a few pages in half a day.

Looking at the photo, Madison reminisced about those carefree days. Back then, Kaitlyn hadn't appeared yet, and Madison would still follow wherever Sam went.

Janet had teased her endlessly about Sam, and she was the one who had taken their photo back then.

Once Kaitlyn appeared, Madison seemed to have been in a trance, completely believing Kaitlyn and distancing herself from Sam and Janet.

Madison was hit with a pang of guilt as she recalled the past. Her eyes reddened as she gently caressed the photo frame, feeling down.

Right at this moment, the door to the office swung open.

Madison jumped and subconsciously hid the photo frame behind her. She looked up to see Sienna angrily storming in.

In Sienna's eyes, Madison was doing something shifty. She asked sternly, "Madison, what the hell are you doing on Mr. Goodwin's desk?"
