"Mom." His voice was pitched dangerously low, carrying an obvious warning. "I'm not dead yet. Show my wife some respect."
Being publicly rebuked by her own son made Helena's face flush violently, turning from green to white.
Just as she was about to explode, Eleanor chimed in, acting as if she already knew exactly what the problem was.
Eleanor beckoned the young maid who had brought in the medicine tray. "You, take these herbs to the lab for testing. I want to see exactly what kind of dirty tricks are hidden in here!"
The young maid squeaked in response and hurriedly stepped forward to grab the wooden tray, her hands shaking visibly.
"Hold on."
An old but steady voice echoed from behind them, causing everyone to turn their heads in unison.
At some point, Arthur had managed to sit up with the help of Dr. Clayton.
He leaned back against the headboard. While his complexion was still a bit pale, his eyes were sharp and clear. There was not a trace of the excruciating pain he had supposedly just been in.
He swept his gaze over the room and stated flatly, "I am perfectly fine. Leave the medicine. Step back."
Eleanor refused to let it go. "Arthur, don't be careless. This girl isn't as simple as you think. She wishes everyone in the Sterling family would just drop dead."
Helena eagerly chimed in, "Exactly, Dad! While you were in your coma, everyone in this house suffered because of her. You have no idea what she..."
"Enough." Jarred stepped in front of Sienna, his eyes as cold as ice.
"Mom, Grandma, if you're going to throw accusations around, bring evidence. You're saying Sienna is trying to harm our entire family? If she really had those intentions, I would have been the first casualty. Why would she start with Grandpa?"
Eleanor and Helena were choked into silence.
Sienna stood off to the side, quietly observing the chaos as if watching a play that had absolutely nothing to do with her.
Suddenly, her gaze casually drifted toward Celeste at the foot of the bed.
This woman, who usually loved jumping out to kick her while she was down, was unusually quiet today.
"In a worst-case scenario, it could trigger another coma, or perhaps... he might never wake up again."
The moment those words hung in the air, you could hear a pin drop in the room.
Arthur's profound gaze settled on Sienna, an unreadable depth in his eyes.
He merely tilted his head, giving Dr. Clayton a subtle look.
Dr. Clayton immediately picked up the herbs and walked out of the room.
A few minutes later, he returned and gave Arthur a firm nod.
The truth was undeniably clear.
Eleanor scoffed coldly, unable to suppress the raging fury in her voice. "Sienna! You actually have the nerve to admit it! How utterly bold of you!"
She turned toward the door and snapped harshly, "Guards! Seize this vicious creature and drag her straight to the police station!"
