Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 204

Acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened, Maloney asked smoothly, "What brings you here so suddenly?"

Pushing her suspicions down, Sienna smiled and explained, "I'm heading back to the States for a few days. I just wanted to drop by and say goodbye, and to thank you for sending people to help look after Owen. I really appreciate everything you've done."

"It was no trouble at all. There's no need to be so polite."

Maloney stepped aside, gesturing for her to head back into the office with him, his posture as impeccable as ever.

But as they sat down and chatted, Sienna distinctly noticed his eyes kept darting back toward the terrace.

Beneath his seemingly calm exterior, there was an undeniable undercurrent of tension.

She knew for a fact she hadn't imagined those voices.

There was definitely a third person on that terrace. But... who was it?

The breeze in the Capital still carried a slight chill.

As Sienna wheeled her suitcase out of the airport, she immediately spotted Luna Lennox waiting for her.

Luna saw her at the same time.

It had only been a few days, but the gentle, dependent aura that used to cling to Sienna was completely gone. In its place was a sharp, cool detachment.

Luna felt a pang of sympathy but quickly masked it with a huge grin, marching over and throwing an arm around her shoulders. "You're finally back! A divorce! This is massive news!

My best friend finally saw the light and dumped that toxic jerk. We have to celebrate. We are going on a massive shopping spree!"

After tossing the luggage in the trunk, Luna opened the passenger door for her. "I'm telling you, you're doing exactly what I say today. I saved up three months of my performance bonuses just for this day."

Sienna let herself be pushed into the car. Hearing Luna's excitement, she let out a soft laugh and didn't argue.

Celebrating a divorce—it sounded ridiculous, but deep down, she honestly felt it was worth celebrating.

The car pulled up in front of a high-end jewelry boutique downtown.

Sienna glanced at the understated but blatantly luxurious storefront. She didn't say a word, just let Luna drag her inside.

A sales associate walked over with a polished smile.

The associate nodded and walked off, returning moments later with several velvet trays lined up perfectly on the counter.

Luna leaned in, pointing at the most dazzling piece in the center. "That one's gorgeous! It totally suits you!"

Sienna followed her gaze.

She was just about to speak when a soft noise came from behind them.

"You've got to be kidding me..." The excitement vanished from Luna's face, replaced by pure disgust. "Why do we run into them everywhere?"

Sienna turned around.

Two women had just rolled through the entrance in wheelchairs, flanked by two bodyguards carrying shopping bags.

Helena was wearing a sharply tailored emerald-green coat. Even confined to a wheelchair, her commanding presence hadn't diminished in the slightest. She had that haughty, arrogant look in her eyes, acting as if everyone in the room owed her millions.

Celeste sat next to her in a cream-colored knit dress. Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, her expression soft and gentle, a perfectly practiced, demure smile resting on her lips.
