Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 205

Sienna's gaze swept over the two of them with utter indifference.

She didn't have the time or energy to deal with them. She was just about to turn back to the counter when Celeste noticed her.

"Sienna? When did you get back?" A flash of surprise crossed her eyes, quickly shifting into mock concern. "Is your brother feeling better?"

"Why don't you mind your own damn business? Who made you the world police?" Before Sienna could say a word, Luna fired back.

Sienna simply turned around, ignoring them to focus on the jewelry.

Luna was gritting her teeth in anger. "Calling her by her maiden name? She hasn't even finalized the paperwork with Jarred yet. You really don't care how desperate you look, do you? What a piece of work..."

"It's not the first time she's run her mouth like that," Sienna said calmly.

As they spoke, the associate brought out another tray, this one holding several exquisitely detailed pieces.

"This piece is on the cover of this month's magazine," the associate explained with a smile, pointing to one of the necklaces. "There are only three of them in the world."

Sienna glanced at it and was just reaching out to pick it up when Celeste's wheelchair rolled closer.

Her voice was soft, but the sneer beneath her tone was unmistakable. "Sienna, that necklace is incredibly expensive. Are you sure you're buying it?"

She paused, shaking her head as if the thought had just occurred to her. "Oh, I don't mean anything by it, just a friendly reminder. You aren't Mrs. Sterling anymore, so it wouldn't be appropriate for you to use Jarred's VIP account to make the purchase."

While speaking to Sienna, her eyes intentionally darted toward the sales associate.

She was blatantly implying that Sienna was no longer part of the Sterling family, and with her personal spending history, she didn't even deserve to touch a limited-edition piece.

The associate's expression stiffened. Professionalism kept her from asking Sienna to leave, but the look she gave her was suddenly filled with scrutiny and hesitation.

Luna's face flushed red with rage. "Don't you dare look down on her! Do you think everyone is as pathetic as you, unable to survive without leaching off a man? Without maxing out your sugar daddy's credit cards, you couldn't even afford a basic bracelet on your own!"

"You!"

She wheeled herself over to the associate and said pointedly, "You really need to verify if certain people actually have the funds to shop here. Not being able to afford it is one thing, but if she accidentally breaks it, you'll be the one taking the fall."

The associate's face grew even paler.

Thoroughly satisfied with the reaction, Helena deliberately raised her voice. "Bring out all the best new arrivals you have in stock."

Every head in the store snapped in her direction.

Helena lifted her chin haughtily. "I am selecting engagement gifts for my future daughter-in-law. And remember, every single piece must be more expensive than whatever she chose. We can't have cheap trash dragging down the standards of the future Mrs. Sterling."

Sitting in her wheelchair, Celeste listened to Helena's grand introduction, lowering her head with a demure, soft smile.

"We'll see who's dragging down who!" Luna couldn't take it anymore. She rolled up her sleeves, ready to march over and start a war.

But at the critical moment, Sienna grabbed her arm, holding her back.
