Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 210

Sienna stood still; the two bodyguards behind her immediately blocked her.

Thea Stanton spoke sternly, "Mrs. Sterling, please watch your words, or my client will sue you for defamation."

Sienna watched coldly. Seeing Helena's near-manic state, she felt the heavy gloom in her chest vanish, replaced by immense satisfaction.

Ignoring the two women, she turned to the sales associate. "I'll take all the necklaces I was looking at earlier. Wrap them up."

The associate paused for a moment, then beamed. "Right away, Ms. Sloan!"

She said "Ms. Sloan" loud and clear, seemingly emphasizing the title.

Celeste's face completely drained of color.

She suddenly realized the issue.

From the moment Sienna stepped into the store, the staff had called her Ms. Sloan, not Mrs. Sterling.

Sienna hadn't used the Sterling family's name or Jarred's VIP status; she had used her own.

When did the formerly obedient and dependent Sienna become so fiercely independent, covered in thorns, and entirely unpredictable?

Where did she get the nerve?

Sienna calmly swiped her card, signed the receipt, took the shopping bags, and walked out of the store with Thea and Luna.

Helena and Celeste stood rooted to the spot, watching her retreating back.

Helena's chest heaved violently, her fiery anger having nowhere to vent.

She hated Sienna, hated her for humiliating her so thoroughly.

She hated losing that necklace, and she hated how calm and justified Sienna looked.

As Luna steered the car, she couldn't help but complain. "I'm still so annoyed. We let your wicked ex-mother-in-law and that little manipulator off too easy."

Luna tapped her fingers on the steering wheel. "I was really hoping she'd refuse to return the goods so we could take it straight to the police station. Locking her up for a week would've taught them a lesson."

Sienna looked out the window, her lips curling into a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "The days ahead are long. If they think they can walk away unscathed, they're dreaming."

Pausing, she picked up the velvet box resting on her lap, a sharp glint in her eyes.

"Given Helena's fanatic obsession with one-of-a-kind jewelry, snatching a limited edition piece from her hurts more than throwing her in a cell.

What's a few days in holding? She'd just come out and keep going to auctions. But if this piece ends up in someone else's hands, she'll have chest pains every time she thinks about it for the rest of her life."

Luna nodded, then sighed. "It's just a pity. You aren't into collecting either, so throwing away tens of millions of dollars like this feels like a waste."

"Who said that?" Sienna gave a faint smile and casually tossed the velvet box into the passenger side storage compartment.
