Just as Beatrice was about to launch into a screaming fit, Willow hung up.

The vicious insults choked in Beatrice's throat, lodged there like a sharp fishbone that refused to budge.

Trembling with fury, she hurled her phone at the floor, shattering the screen into pieces, though it did little to quench her burning wrath.

Meanwhile, Willow was in exceptionally high spirits. Having happily finished her gift shopping, she prepared to head to the Vance estate.

The Vance family's primary enterprises were based overseas, and they had largely settled abroad. It was only because Vivienne stubbornly insisted on developing her career locally that her eldest brother, unable to simply leave her be, expanded their business operations here.

However, all three of his sons were currently managing their foreign assets. Since they were at a critical stage in their respective projects, they wouldn't be returning anytime soon.

Despite Vivienne giving them plenty of notice, business commitments couldn't simply be tossed aside.

Coincidentally, Vivienne's second brother and his family were also unable to attend; they were neck-deep in a classified government research project.

Her third brother and his wife were renowned botanists who practically lived out of their suitcases, constantly traveling the globe.

The third brother had three sons. The eldest was currently pursuing his Ph.D. abroad and was buried in his dissertation, so his mentor refused to let him leave.

The middle son was a famous director currently shooting a film in a remote foreign location; he had been completely off the grid for a month.

Only the youngest was in town, and word was he was a professional e-sports player.

Despite Willow having bought a mountain of gifts, only one person was actually around to receive theirs.

The rest would just have to be passed along or saved for when they eventually returned.

Vivienne smiled brightly, her eyes crinkling. "There will be plenty of opportunities to meet everyone later. The main priority today is for you to meet my parents."

Willow didn't mind at all. She smiled and asked, "What's the name of this nephew who's actually home?"
