Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 130

They were literally using a fake life-saving favor to bleed Caspian dry!

When Caspian didn't respond, Beatrice's tone grew sharp and impatient. "I suggest you think very carefully about this. Otherwise, the press conference in three days will be about exposing your blatant ungratefulness."

The 'request' had instantly devolved into an outright threat.

Without waiting for a reply, Beatrice hung up the phone.

The Landon family had manipulated Caspian for so long that they knew exactly how he operated.

He was indecisive and a total pushover.

A few harsh words were all it took to force him into submission. He never fought back.

It had always been this way, and they fully expected it to stay this way.

Beatrice smirked triumphantly as she ended the call. She then shot a cold, disdainful glare at Tessa.

"I'm warning you, Tessa," she snapped. "This is your absolute last chance. If you screw this up again, don't expect the Landon family to keep protecting you! When that happens, you can drag yourself to the courthouse and sign the divorce papers!"

Tessa snapped her head up in pure disbelief, her fists clenching so hard her knuckles turned white. Her eyes instantly brimmed with tears. She couldn't understand it. Before the wedding, Beatrice had absolutely adored her. How had her attitude completely flipped in just a few short weeks?!

Beatrice found her pathetic expression utterly repulsive. She let out a cruel scoff. "What are you looking at? If you were half as capable as Willow, I wouldn't have to go around begging Caspian! Honestly, Elias should have just married Willow instead!"

Tessa's mind went completely blank. She whipped her head toward Elias, desperate for him to intervene, but he didn't even flinch. He just stood there, silently agreeing with everything his mother had said.

She completely broke down. The second Beatrice left the room, Tessa turned on Elias, her voice trembling with fury. "Why didn't you defend me? Do you agree with her too?"

Elias frowned, looking at her with clear disapproval. "She just scolded you a little, it's not the end of the world. Why are you picking a fight with an elder? If it were Willow, she never would have acted like this."
