Julian's pupils contracted sharply as he stared at Willow in absolute disbelief.
What did she just say? He didn't deserve to be her family?
Growing up, the one thing Willow had said to Julian more than anything else was how much she loved him.
But now, she was throwing him away.
Julian stood rooted to the spot, a hollow void opening in his chest.
Tears welled up in Tessa's eyes. "Willow, how could you break Julian's heart like this? Is a dead object really more important than he is?"
Willow let out a dark, mocking laugh. She carefully rose to her feet, picking up the shattered pieces from the floor one by one.
It was only then that everyone noticed the vicious injury on her leg.
Willow was wearing a short skirt today, and the sharp jade shards had sliced cleanly into her skin. The gash was nasty, with bright red blood welling up and trailing down her fair leg—a genuinely shocking sight.
Julian's lips parted. He seemed to want to say something, but before he could utter a word, Willow spoke, her voice measured and precise. "Yes. He isn't worth a fraction of what this bracelet meant to me."
Julian's expression hardened, a flash of humiliated anger crossing his features. He snapped at her, "You always say I favor Tessa, but look at yourself! Look at how you're acting! How can you even compare yourself to her?"
Hearing his twisted logic, Willow smiled. It was a cold, bitter smile. "Julian, I'm just a mirror. I reflect exactly what you give me. Since you think blood ties mean absolutely nothing, then I guess I feel the same way."
Without giving Julian a second to process her words, she finished gathering the broken shards, tucked them carefully into her handbag, and turned on her heel to leave.
Julian froze, his mind echoing with her words. She had spoken so calmly, yet it sent a chilling shudder down his spine.
