Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 238

If she had just quietly accepted the abuse, everyone's lives would be peaceful.

Why did she have to cause such a massive scene?!

Leo ignored them. He had zero desire to waste another word on these selfish people.

He stood quietly in the corner, waiting for Willow to emerge.

Meanwhile, Julian stared down at the file attachment on his phone. His thumb hovered over the screen, unable to bring himself to open it.

Inside the courtroom, Vivienne hugged Willow tight, kissing her cheeks repeatedly. Her voice brimmed with pride. "Babe! You have no idea how incredibly satisfying it was watching you slam those receipts down one by one! Those assholes are finally paying the price! After everything Xavier put you through, he can go rot and reflect on it in a cell!"

A soft smile rippled through Willow's eyes. She turned to look at Lucian Jagger. "Thank you for the legal team."

Lucian didn't take any of the credit. He simply draped his suit jacket over her shoulders. "It's getting overcast. Don't catch a cold."

Vivienne's eyes lit up immediately. She darted an excited, teasing look between Willow and Lucian, a knowing smirk on her lips. "Oh my, how terribly sweet..."

Before she could finish her teasing, a second jacket landed squarely on Willow's shoulders.

Willow blinked in confusion. Looking up, she saw York Lockwood retracting his hand.

His expression remained completely deadpan. "My jacket is warmer. It was freshly scented last night, so I guarantee it doesn't carry any unpleasant odors—especially not the perfume of other women."

Lucian paused for a second, his silver-gray eyes fixing on York's face.

Even at a time like this, York couldn't resist a petty dig.

He wasn't talking about laundry—he was absolutely referencing Daphne Solano!

York was passive-aggressively calling him tainted!

Lucian let out a dark chuckle. Hooking two fingers under York's jacket, he casually flicked it off Willow's shoulders, letting it drop to the floor as if by accident.

He planted his expensive leather shoe right on top of the fabric without blinking.

Then, looking at York with an air of complete innocence in his silver-gray eyes, he said, "My apologies. It slipped. Well, now it's tainted."

York's temples throbbed with irritation. "Shameless."

Lucian didn't look the least bit apologetic. "I appreciate the compliment."

How could chasing after his wife be considered shameless?
