Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 259

Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs, the color visibly draining from her face.

Then, she mumbled incoherently, "Willow, can we not waste time? I'm pregnant! The doctor said my pregnancy is unstable and I can't be exhausted. I don't have time to waste with you!"

With that, she feigned dizziness, leaning weakly against the maid as if a single word of rejection from Willow would make her faint on the spot.

Willow shot her a half-smile, deliberately provoking her. "Unstable pregnancy? That's great. Saves Elias the trouble of plotting how to make you miscarry."

Willow was so irritated she nearly laughed. Before she could retort, Xavier cut in, his eyes clouded with confusion and disbelief. "Is it wrong for Willow to demand an inspection? Silas, do you really have to be so harsh on her?"

The moment the words left his mouth, Xavier froze.

It suddenly dawned on him that this was exactly how he used to treat Willow.

He would dismiss her at every turn, refusing to hear her out, treating every defense she offered as a lie...
