Lucian arched a brow slightly, his silver-gray eyes filled with pure mockery. "You can try."
His absolute lack of fear was infuriating, but the lethal weapon in his hand made it impossible for anyone to make a rash move.
Silas could only glare viciously at Willow. "You're just going to stand there and watch me get bullied? With the way you act, you still blame me for favoring Tessa? Look at you! You don't even compare to her!"
Willow clicked her tongue. "So it's fine for you to watch others bully me, but I'm not allowed to watch you suffer? What kind of twisted gangster logic is that?"
A flash of intense annoyance crossed Lucian's eyes.
In the next second, a razor-sharp dagger appeared in his left hand and was pressed directly against Silas's throat.
The blade was wickedly sharp, and Lucian didn't pull his punch. He broke Silas's skin, sending a thin trail of blood trailing downward. The sharp sting and sheer terror silenced Silas mid-sentence!
Lucian's emotionless, silver-gray eyes locked onto him, his tone completely flat. "This is what bullying looks like."
Silas swallowed hard, completely paralyzed by the potent murderous intent in the man's eyes. For a moment, he couldn't form a single word.
In that instant, he truly believed that if he breathed another syllable, this man would butcher him on the spot!
Seeing that they had both finally shut up, Lucian seemed satisfied. He turned his attention back to Tessa. "The key."
Those two simple words were far more terrifying than any long-winded threat.
This time, Tessa didn't dare play any games. She obediently offered the key to Lucian.
Frowning, Lucian looked at her with such intense disgust that he didn't even reach out to take it. Instead, he hooked it with the tip of his dagger.
Then, he tossed the key to Xavier. "You open it."
Xavier caught the key, paused for a fleeting second, and crouched down to unlock the box.
The relief Tessa felt was immediately crushed by the insult of Lucian's actions.
How dare he treat her like she was diseased?
Why did someone as wretched as Willow get to be protected by him?
