Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 304

Willow admired the sheer terror radiating from her and tilted her head. "You still owe me ten slaps. I want to hear them."

Seething, Tessa didn't dare disobey. She raised her trembling hand, gathered her courage, and struck her own cheek.

Her face was already severely swollen and agonizingly tender from Willow's previous hits, so she instinctively held back, delivering a weak tap.

Willow clicked her tongue in disapproval. "Not hard enough."

With that, her gaze shifted to the remaining ten men.

They were still as stiff as wooden posts. Every time Willow's eyes swept over them, they flinched and averted their gazes.

Mockery filled Willow's eyes as she finally singled out one of the bulkier men. "You. Come here."

He pointed at himself in disbelief. "Me?"

Willow gave a curt nod. "She can't bring herself to do it properly and is trying to cheat her way out. You do it. Ten slaps, and I'll let you walk away."

A look of wild relief washed over the man's face. He stepped menacingly toward Tessa. Her eyes widened in panic. "Don't you dare! Do you not want your money?! If you lay a single finger on me, you'll spit out every cent I paid you!"

The threat held no weight. The man sneered, "Money that's already in my pocket? You think you're getting it back? Keep dreaming."

With a wide swing, he brought his heavy hand down brutally across Tessa's face.

Though riddled with diseases, he had been a dockworker in his youth and possessed immense brute strength.

He had made decent money years ago, but his reckless lifestyle had left him with syphilis, a broken home, and nothing to his name.

Desperate to survive this encounter, he put everything he had into the strike. The impact sent Tessa sprawling into the dirt, an angry purple bruise instantly blooming across her cheek.

Pampered her entire life, Tessa had never endured such physical agony. Tears streamed down her face in a relentless torrent.

Willow watched her with a cold, detached stare. Had she not asked Lucian Jagger for the gun beforehand, her own fate today would have been a hundred times more tragic than Tessa's current misery.
