No wonder! No wonder Xavier had miraculously found this incredibly remote location!
So this had been Willow's plan all along?!
But how did she have the nerve? Wasn't she afraid Tessa would refuse to reveal her father's whereabouts?
Tessa's heart hammered wildly, but she had no time to overthink. She scrambled to explain, "Xavier, Julian, this is a misunderstanding! Don't listen to Willow's nonsense; she's intentionally framing me!"
A mocking smile flickered in Xavier's eyes. He just stared at her coldly, as if curious to see what kind of ridiculous excuse she would spin next.
Julian's gaze grew heavy. He asked calmly, "Then why don't you tell us exactly how she framed you?"
Tessa opened her mouth, but the words knotted in her throat. She broke into a cold sweat, taking a long moment before she finally stammered, "I... I admit, I did do one thing wrong. I made up the information about Mr. Shaw to trick Willow into meeting me. But I swear, I didn't have any malicious intentions. I just wanted to clear the air with her."
Willow hadn't expected her to keep lying through her teeth. She tilted her head, feigning confusion. "No malicious intentions? But you called ten filthy men over? Wow, if you actually had malicious intentions, you probably would have killed me, right?"
Tessa defended herself without missing a beat. "Didn't you call these men here? Besides, I didn't do anything to you. You were the one who forced me to grovel and humiliate myself! Willow, if I had known you were like this, I would have begged my parents not to save you back then!"
By the time she finished, her voice was trembling, as if she had suffered the gravest injustice in the world.
Willow gave her a half-smile as Tessa cried until her body shook.
