Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 321

*Willow... didn't come to see me?*

The realization hit him like a physical blow, hollowing out his chest and leaving him entirely speechless.

Xavier, on the other hand, snapped out of his initial shock, replaced by an overwhelming surge of manic joy.

He had truly believed Willow would never speak to them again for the rest of her life!

But now she wanted to join the company! Did that mean she wasn't entirely repulsed by him? If they worked together every day, could they actually repair their shattered bond?

The mere thought sent a jolt of desperate excitement through Xavier. "Of course you can, Willow! I'll personally take you in tomorrow. How does that sound?"

Willow could read him like an open book. A flicker of cold mockery danced in her eyes.

Humans were truly delusional creatures. Did he honestly believe that a few pathetic apologies and performative gestures could just instantly erase a lifetime of abuse?

She would never forgive him. Joining the company was merely step one in systematically destroying his power within The Shaw Group.

"Save it," Willow rejected the offer flat out. "I'm just informing you. Make sure my executive access is authorized. I'm a major shareholder, after all."

Willow had zero intention of showing up at the company only to be stalled by some clueless receptionist.

Xavier didn't take offense. He simply nodded eagerly. "I remember. I opened up your executive access the moment I transferred the shares to you. Whenever you want to come home, the doors are always open."

The word made Willow physically nauseous. She lifted her chin, her voice dripping with pure disdain. "'Home'? You're severely mistaken, Mr. Shaw. That's your home. Not mine."

Xavier froze, a chunk of his heart seemingly ripped away. He opened his mouth to plead with her, but Willow had already turned her back, not sparing him a single glance.
