Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 392

Now that she was graciously handing over this golden opportunity on a silver platter, there was no way it would be rejected!

A snort of laughter escaped Willow's lips. Mistaking the reaction for joyful submission, Tessa lifted her chin haughtily. "But there's a catch. You have to willingly withdraw from the Celestial Composition Project, hand over whatever drafts you've already completed to me, and stay the hell away from Elias Landon. If you do that, we can go back to being a happy family."

Flexing her fingers to admire her perfectly manicured nails, Willow couldn't help but let out a mocking chuckle. "Tessa, if you don't have a mirror, surely you can find a puddle to look into, right? Where do you harvest this level of delusion?"

Tessa's face contorted in outrage as Willow continued her brutal takedown. "Oh, wait, I get it. In your tiny little world, Jude and the rest of the Shaw brothers are the absolute peak of high society, right? So you assume everyone else is just dying to get a piece of the pie. And as for Elias Landon—that walking pile of garbage? You're the only one who treats him like a prize. Honestly, if he offered to be my sidepiece, I'd throw up."

Tessa looked ready to pop a blood vessel. She had exhausted every trick in the book lately trying to get Elias to come back to her, but what was he doing?

He was obsessing over Yvette Tate, a cheap imitation!

He barely even came home anymore.

Watching someone treat the prize she fought so desperately for like a piece of chewed-up gum was absolute agony.

Relishing the grotesque shade of purple on her face, Willow flashed a sweet, deadly smile. "As for the Celestial Composition Project... let me offer some free advice. If you don't have the talent, stop trying to force your way into the big leagues. You're only going to embarrass yourself."

Damn, that was actually pretty catchy.

A wave of smug satisfaction washed over her as she mentally replayed her own insult. Pure poetry!

Goodness, she was getting good at this. She really needed to spend more time trading insults with Jude to sharpen her claws even further.

Standing behind her, Tessa was practically hyperventilating with rage. "Keep acting tough!" she shrieked through gritted teeth. "Let's see how long you can keep up the act! Do you have any idea who's backing me? I have ten thousand ways to get you kicked out of this project!"

Tilting her head, she let out a bright, challenging laugh. "Well, go on then. Who's your sugar daddy? Give me a reason to shake in my boots."

Blinded by fury, the name was on the tip of her tongue, but she abruptly remembered Daphne's strict warning.

Under no circumstances was she allowed to expose Daphne's involvement. However, if she needed reinforcements, she was instructed to seek out Mrs. Halloway, who would eagerly throw her weight around.
