The moment she saw the trending posts, her eyes widened in absolute horror. She nearly fainted for real this time!
How dare she! How could Willow actually expose the truth about the wedding? Wasn't she terrified of being banished from the Shaw family forever?
And where did she even get those chat screenshots?! Tessa distinctly remembered never sending those messages to Willow!
Elias watched her panicked expression, opening and closing his mouth several times before finally speaking. "Tessa, you need to be smarter from now on. Don't go sharing everything with Willow."
Her head snapped up. "I didn't!"
Tears of genuine frustration welled in her eyes. "Why would I ever let Willow know what was going on between us? I didn't send those screenshots! Elias, do you seriously not believe me?"
Fearing her condition would worsen if she got too worked up, Elias quickly backpedaled. "I know. I believe you. I'm just trying to warn you that Willow is incredibly manipulative. She's not someone you can handle easily. Just keep your guard up around her, that's all. Don't be mad."
He said the right words, but Tessa could see right through him. He didn't believe her at all!
He genuinely thought she had bragged to Willow, handing her the exact ammunition needed to destroy them!
For the first time in her life, Tessa felt the crushing weight of being completely unable to defend herself. Usually, she was the one framing Willow. Getting outplayed like this made her blood boil.
But Elias had just apologized. If she kept pressing the issue, he would think she was being unreasonable and hysterical.
Taking several deep breaths to compose herself, she forced her voice to stay steady. "So what do we do now?"
Elias hesitated before answering. "My mother is already putting pressure on her, and your brothers are out looking for her. Don't worry, this scandal won't last long. Once she deletes the posts, we'll hire a PR firm to bury the narrative. This will all blow over."
Hearing this, Tessa let out a shaky breath and nodded.
