Tessa's eyes widened in sheer disbelief. Every word Vivienne spat out felt like a resounding slap to her face, leaving her reeling in humiliation within seconds.

How was that possible? How could Willow play something so magnificent?

Even though Tessa lacked any real composing talent, she did possess a decent ear for music. She knew exactly how much technical prowess that piece required.

The more she realized this, the more her heart twisted with envy.

When they were kids, she had deliberately schemed to make the Shaw family cancel Willow's piano lessons. Willow had only studied for two years at most. How on earth could she play at that level?

Tessa blurted out instinctively, "Impossible! Stop lying to me! Willow doesn't have that kind of skill! Vivienne, I know you want to build hype for your new apprentice to prove you didn't make a mistake, but this lie is far too obvious!"

Vivienne laughed so hard that tears streamed down her face. She tapped on Caspian's table. "Maestro Skye, what should we do? She's absolutely convinced you wrote that piece. Are you going to take credit for it?"

Caspian offered a good-natured smile before looking at Tessa with total sincerity. "Vivienne is telling the truth. That piece was played by Willow, and it's her original composition."

He said it so softly, yet it echoed like thunder, leaving a ringing sound in Tessa's ears.

Vivienne grinned at her. "Did you hear that clearly? Tessa, I'm genuinely curious... does your face hurt from all that slapping?"

Tessa bit her lip so hard she tasted copper. The sharp sting barely helped her rein in her spiraling emotions. She instinctively glanced back at Elias.

At that exact moment, Elias's gaze was fixed unwaveringly on Willow. His eyes were dark, his thoughts unreadable, but Tessa could vividly sense the regret radiating from him.

The last string of rationality in Tessa's mind snapped. She whipped her head toward Willow and hissed, "You're feeling pretty smug right now, aren't you, Willow?"
