Elias's face changed instantly, his eyes locked onto Willow in absolute disbelief. "Are you out of your mind?"
Willow wasn't intimidated in the slightest. "You're the one who started acting like a lunatic first."
Rendered speechless, Elias finally spat out a vicious curse, "Ungrateful bitch!"
With that, he turned on his heel and chased after Tessa.
Willow casually locked her phone, in a fantastic mood as she headed off to get some food.

Tessa had clicked play the exact second the audio file came through. An instant later, Elias's unreserved voice drifted out of the speaker. When she heard the word 'mistress,' her tear-streaked face drained of all color.
Xavier's expression darkened completely. Just as he was about to speak, Elias came running up to them.
Right on cue, the recording played its final note.
Elias froze for a moment, his fingers curling into tight fists. Swallowing hard, he looked at Tessa's red-rimmed eyes, quickly closed the distance, and said softly, "Tessa... listen to me, I can explain."
Tessa lowered her eyes. Even though her heart was overflowing with disgust and hatred, she had no choice but to put on an understanding front. With a slight tremble in her voice, she murmured, "Elias, you don't need to explain. I understand. After all, Willow was the one you were engaged to first. It's only natural that you still have feelings for her. But it's okay. I believe I'll move your heart eventually and make you fall completely in love with me."
Elias was momentarily stunned by her response, but that shock was quickly replaced by a profound wave of tenderness...
He said softly, "Tessa... I'm sorry. I just had a momentary lapse in judgment. I swear I'll never do it again. Don't worry, I will love you exclusively."
Tessa offered him a shy smile before turning to Xavier and speaking softly. "Xavier, let's go back. I miss Asher. He hasn't been speaking much lately, and I'm really worried about him."
Xavier let out a soft sigh. "If Willow were even half as understanding as you, everything would be fine."
Tessa smiled but stayed silent, yet internally, Elias's words from the recording were playing on an endless loop, turning her heart to ice inch by inch.
