Betrayed by My Mafia Brother novel Chapter 32

Chapter 4

The air seemed to freeze, with only the sharp click of my high heels echoing on the floor.

Step by step, I walked toward the couple embraced in the center of the living room.

Blake’s expression was priceless.

First, shock, then an uncontrollable fear that made his face drain of color.

He instinctively released Zoe from his arms, as if he wanted to stand up.

But when his gaze landed on Zoe’s tear-streaked face, he hesitated and struggled.

In the end, that fear was replaced by a ridiculous, blustering false bravado.

He stayed seated, glaring at me as if that could somehow hide his inner panic.

Zoe, on the other hand, froze when she saw me, her pupils dilating.

But she quickly recovered. This was Blake’s turf, with so many of his friends around.

She shrank even further into his arms, crying even louder.

“Blake, it’s her… she’s the one who’s been bullying me…”

She cried, her eyes full of both resentment and smugness as she taunted me.

It was as if she was saying, “See? He’s still protecting me.”

I ignored her and focused solely on my dear little brother.

“Blake,” I said, my voice cold, “I’m asking you something.”

“Didn’t you just say you’d make me kneel and apologize to your girlfriend?”

Blake’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he nervously trembled, yet not a word came out of his mouth.

He was scared of me.

He had always been afraid of me, from childhood until now.

He knows who the real authority in this family was.

His friends exchanged confused glances, clearly not understanding what was going on.

One of them, a spoiled rich kid with bleached hair, probably trying to show off in front of Zoe, stepped up.

“Who the hell are you? Talking to Blake like that?”

“Better apologize to Zoe now, or else…”

He didn’t get to finish his sentence because my bodyguard stepped forward and stood in front of me, his

expression unreadable.

The sheer pressure made the spoiled rich kid instantly shut up.

I stepped around the bodyguard and walked right up to Blake, looking down at him from above.

“Looks like you’re not planning on explaining anything to me.”

Blake finally summoned enough courage and stood up with his neck stiffened.

He pulled me aside, lowering his voice as he spoke with a mix of pleading and slight irritation.

“Sophia, what do you want from me?”

“Do you have to make me look bad in front of my friends?”

“Zoe didn’t mean it. She’s just a little hot-headed. Can’t you let it go?”
