Chapter 6
I put everything I had into it, and Blake’s face snapped to the side. A clear handprint rapidly appeared on his
face.
He was stunned, as was everyone else.
He covered his face, staring at me in disbelief, the anger in his eyes quickly turning into humiliation.
“You… you hit me?”
“I slapped some sense into you.”
My voice was as cold as ice.
I scanned the room, taking in the silent onlookers, before my eyes landed back on Blake.
“You all think he’s the master here, the heir of the Montgomery family, right?”
No one dared speak.
I let out a light laugh, but there was no humor in it.
“Blake, is that what you’ve always believed?”
“Do you think you were born to have everything? This villa, the cars outside, the shares in the company, and the unlimited black card I gave you?”
He didn’t speak, but his defiant stare said it all.
“Have you ever wondered why?”
“Why, even though Dad favored you more, he left 90% of the company shares to me?”
“Why I had to act like your mother, clearing the path for you, solving every problem you caused, letting you get away with anything, without boundaries?”
He froze, caught off guard.
Maybe those questions had crossed his mind, but he had always just accepted everything as it was, never thinking twice.
Watching his confused and humiliated face, I finally decided to reveal the cruel truth I had kept hidden from him for over a decade.
“Because you don’t actually carry the Montgomery name.”

I said these words calmly, but they hit like a thunderclap, shattering the silence of the living room.
Blake’s face froze.
It was as though he had heard the most outlandish, impossible thing. His pupils dilated, his mouth slightly
agape, staring at me in shock.
“What… what did you just say?”
“I said,” I repeated, each word sharp and clear, “you’re an illegitimate child.”
“When Dad brought you home, you were just three. Grandpa almost had a heart attack and wanted to throw
you and your mom out.”
“It was me.”
I pointed at myself.
“I was the one who kneeled before Grandpa, begging him to let you stay.”
“I told him that the child is innocent.”
“I promised him I’d look after you, raise you, and never let you bring shame to the Montgomery family.”
“To make sure you could live here with legitimacy, to keep you from bearing the mark of an illegitimate child
from the start, I begged Dad and Grandpa to hide your true identity from everyone.”
“I treated you like my own brother, giving you the best of everything, making up for the motherly love you
lacked, indulging you in everything.”
“I thought, if I filled your life with love and material things, you would grow into a kind, upright, and
