Betrayed by My Mafia Brother novel Chapter 65

Chapter 8

Eliza’s face went completely pale at Maggie’s words.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she staggered back, then turned and fled the room sobbing.

Callum’s eyes widened in panic.

“You better pray nothing happens to her,” he growled, glaring at me. “Or I swear, you’ll regret it.”

He didn’t wait for a response. He bolted after her like a man possessed.

And just like that, my stomach dropped.

Cold sweat broke out across my forehead.

This scene-it had happened before. It was unfolding exactly like it had in my past life.

But how? I’d been so careful. How had I still ended up here again?

“Savannah?” a voice cut in, gentle but concerned.

I turned to find Gabe watching me closely, worry in his eyes. “You okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

I couldn’t stop shaking. My legs gave out slightly as I stumbled to my feet.

“I… I need to check on something, I muttered.

When I couldn’t get a cab and frustration started bubbling up, Gabe’s car pulled up right in front of me.

“Get in. I can give you a ride.”

With the situation, I didn’t refuse, I got in the car, gave him the address.

He hit the gas.

By the time we arrived, just like before, Eliza was already on the rooftop.

She stood at the edge, the wind whipping around her, sobbing as she clutched her belly.

“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry, baby,” she whispered to her stomach, tears pouring down her face.

Panic surged through me.

“Don’t move!” I shouted. “Eliza, please, just step back! Don’t hurt yourself-or the baby!”

She looked up at me, heartbroken, her expression crumpled with pain.

“Why?” she cried. “Why can’t I ever be enough for him?”

“I asked him for a new ring, just like you said. He told me it was just a decoration, that it didn’t mean

anything…”

“But your wedding ring-it has both your names engraved inside, with your wedding date…”

It did.

Callum had designed it himself, customized down to the smallest detail. Inside, along with our names and

date, were the words: Endless love, forever yours.

But what did any of that matter now?

With time, even vows fade. What’s left is just silence.

“Eliza,” I said quietly, “you really think that ring proves he loved me?”

“If he truly loved me, would he have ended up with you?”

Callum only ever loved one person-himself.

“But he’s different with you!” she cried, her voice breaking.

“Since you left, he hasn’t been the same. He barely talks to me or the baby. He just sits in your room every day, staring at the wall…”

“He went vegan. He’s been praying. Just hoping you’re safe.”

I listened, unmoved.

Eliza loved Callum. That much was clear. Even without a ring, she stayed.
