Betrayed by My Mafia Brother novel Chapter 64

Chapter 7

I thought that by laying it all out, he’d at least consider Eliza and the child.

Instead, he looked at me like I was being unreasonable.

“We’re married,” he said calmly. “Of course the baby will have your name on the birth certificate.”

I stared at him, stunned by the shamelessness of it all.

“You want me to raise your child with her?” I scoffed. “Are you even listening to yourself, Callum?”

He didn’t hesitate.

“You’re my wife. What’s wrong with raising my kid? Besides, we’re still young. We can have more kids of our

own later.”

His words made my stomach turn.

So this was his plan all along-to keep me tethered while he built a second family.

Before I could respond, Maggie exploded.

“What the hell is wrong with you? Do you eat garbage for breakfast? You actually think that makes sense?”

She pointed at him, seething.

“So what if Savannah goes out, gets pregnant by someone else, and brings the baby home for you to raise?

Would you be cool with that?”

That hit a nerve.

Callum’s expression darkened. “Savannah would never-”

“I would.”

I cut him off, lifting my gaze to meet his.

“If you refuse to divorce me, then yes-I’ll do the same. I’m not a saint. I won’t raise another woman’s child.”

“And if you insist on this arrangement, you might want to look up what constitutes bigamy under the law.”

In my last life, I had tried to divorce him.

He refused, claiming I had killed his baby and should spend the rest of my life repenting.

When I filed for separation, he staged a fake domestic bliss for the court, convincing the judge we were happily married.

My petition was dismissed.

After the child died, I called the police.

But he got my mother to sign a waiver absolving him of everything.

I remember begging her, through tears, “Why would you protect him?”

She only said, “Every marriage has its rough patches. What happened with the baby was just an accident.

You’re still young-you’ll have more.”

So I lost my child, and then I lost my family.

At thirty, I died heartbroken and alone.

This time around, I would never let history repeat itself.

Just as I finished speaking, Eliza stepped forward, trembling. Then-suddenly-she dropped to her knees

before me.

“Savannah, please,” she cried. “I know I’ve made things hard between you and Mr. Wexler, but I swear, I never

meant to take your place-”

“Oh, cut the crap.” Maggie’s voice was sharp with disgust.

“You’re not here to take her place, just to share it? You knew he was married, and still clung to him like a

leech. Don’t pretend you’re innocent.”
