“Let’s talk about it later. Get out right now,” Connor said coldly. This was his only chance to discuss cooperation with the Sadler family. He couldn’t let Xylia ruin it again.
“I didn’t come here to find you,” Xylia replied coolly, her gaze toward Connor filled with impatience.
Connor didn’t believe her words. “You didn’t come to see me? Xylia, are you too ashamed to speak the truth
now?”
Tessa chimed in. “Xylia, you should be more sensible. When you forced Connor to divorce you a few days ago, you should’ve known you’d come back to plead with him.
“But today, Connor has something important. Mr. Sadler will be dining here soon, and as someone who’s worked with the Sadler Group, I can help Connor secure the deal. This is serious, so you better not make a
scene.”
Upon hearing Tessa’s words, Connor’s gaze shifted. Moments ago, he was in awe of Xylia’s beauty, but now he looked at her with disdain for her uselessness.
Xylia not only ruined his chance with the Sadler Group but also caused him to lose the Garcia family deal. She couldn’t help him in any way.
In contrast, Tessa was beautiful, kind–hearted, and successful, offering real help.
Connor’s gaze grew colder as he thought about this. “If you don’t want to divorce, then leave now!” he said sternly.
Xylia thought these two people were crazy. “I’ve already said, my being here has nothing to do with you—I’m meeting someone.”
“Are you meeting someone?” Tessa let out a mocking laugh. “You don’t mean you’ve arranged to meet the Garcia family’s driver, do you?
“How could a driver possibly get a meal at Caperson Bistro? Do you really think this restaurant just accepts anyone?”
Connor couldn’t stand Xylia’s attitude anymore, “You’re getting better at lying. Don’t you feel ashamed? You and that lowly driver are here eating?” he scoffed.
Xylia’s brows furrowed in anger. Connor could insult her, but not Joshua. “What’s wrong with being a driver? At least they earn their own living, unlike you, a rich kid born with a silver spoon,” Xylia shot back.
Connor’s face turned ashen. He never expected Xylia would scold him for Joshua’s sake. “Say that again,” he demanded.
“I said…” Xylia started, but as she tried to speak, Connor grabbed her chin, cutting her words short.
She struggled to free herself, but she didn’t have the strength to shake him off. She glared at him defiantly.
Connor, with rage in his eyes, stared right back at her. “Xylia, don’t test my patience, Get out of here, now!”

With a flick of his hand, he motioned for the waiter. “Get this woman out of here,” he ordered.
The waiter, looking uncomfortable, glanced at Connor. “Mr. Ford, we can’t just kick guests out.”

Connor shot him a cold glare that made the waiter uneasy. “She’s my wife, and she came here to cause trouble. If the restaurant suffers any losses because of her, can you handle that?”
The waiter, though internally criticizing Connor, remained professional. Afraid of any further escalation, the waiter leaned in. “Miss, please come with me,” she said quietly.
Xylia, rubbing her sore chin, shot one last cold glance at Connor. “I told you I’m meeting someone, and I reserved a private room–Redmead,” she stated.
“Redmead?” Tessa repeated, then sneered. “Redmead is the best private room here, and the reservation fee starts in the five figures. Do you really think you and that lowly driver could afford that?”
Xylia felt a pang of uncertainty. She hadn’t known it would be this expensive.
Tessa looked at the waiter. “To be honest, she’s been unfaithful. She doesn’t have any money on her to book such a luxury room. She’s just deceiving you.”
The waiter looked at Xylia’s outfit. It looked well but not high–end luxury, which made it seem unlikely she could afford such a private room.
The waiter had already begun to side with Tessa and was starting to adopt a more assertive attitude toward Xylia. “Miss, if you cause a disturbance here, I will call security.”
Connor turned to Xylia one last time. “Leave.”
Xylia stood still, not moving. The waiter reached for her, ready to pull her away.
Just then, the restaurant manager arrived. “What’s going on here?” the manager asked, hurriedly walking toward the scene.
Upon seeing the manager approach, the waiter promptly greeted him.
The manager walked over and looked at Xylia. “My apologies for the wait, Ms. Schultz. I’ll escort you to your dining area now.”
Everyone else looked shocked except for Xylia and the manager.
Tessa, pointing at Xylia, turned to the manager. “Are you sure she reserved the Redmead private room here?”
The restaurant manager glanced at Tessa and nodded. “That’s correct. Ms. Schultz is a VIP guest of Redmead.”
“How is that possible?” Tessa’s voice grew sharp.
